I'm not enthusiastic about this place, but should probably not review based on a single experience, so I'll give them some benefit of the doubt. If I were to shade the grade, I'd put it between good and very good.

Room is small. Hard acoustic surfaces make the room noisy even when they are not too busy (like when we were there at 2PM on a Friday). Decor is delightfully crisp and clean as per the picture.

We were looking for a light lunch so shared a chopped salad and an order of the calamari. Salad was fine. Absolutely fresh greens and additions of cheese, sausage, peppers, and probably other things. Dressing was great. Calamari on the other hand, both rings and tentacles, while nicely presented and served with a delicious sauce, was overdone - so it was distinctly rubbery. Calamari can easily get this way, but in this league they ought to have them perfect.

Pizza that we saw at other tables might have been a better choice. Perhaps that is their strength.

Located on the main drag in town in a prime location across from the park, this is definitely sort upscale chic. Our two small plates, one glass of wine, (one of us is on the wagon), came to about $33 with taxes.

A very small places that delivers big on food quality, service and wine! We happened upon Gilda's soon after arriving and were greeted by a server that was both friendly and knowledgeable. He really outlined the wineries we should visit and we were not disappointed. Limited menu and limited seating but worth the visit on the two occasions we stopped in.

It was really great to see an updated dining establishment using locally sourced produce! The overall look and feel is something this little town has been missing although it is a tiny place. Dining is loud and tight but the tapas style food is really great. Loved the speck wrapped dates. They could have a grilled calamari option vs. fried. Their warm beet salad was to die for. Wonderful dressing on the arugula salad. I hope to see more updated retail and dining experiencescome in. Skaneateles is known for it's charm--Gilda's got it right with preserving the charm while complimenting the farm to table reality gracing the country!

My husband and I went to Gilda's for the first time last Tuesday and went back two more times in the same week because we so enjoyed our meals! We have been vacationing on Skaneateles Lake every summer for 25 years and we have been to most of the restaurants in the area. Gilda's is now our favorite restaurant in Skaneateles by far.

Standouts from the menu included: grilled shishito peppers; pepperoni pizza; arugula salad with Maytag blue cheese; roasted brussel sprouts. The thin-crust pizza was wonderful, and the other dishes were prepared with care and just the right amount of seasoning. Gilda's has a nice wine list (though we would recommend that they include more Finger Lakes wine) and serves my new favorite beer, "Flower Power" from Ithaca Brewery. We liked the dining room---simple, clean lines and nice design---and the wait staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. All in all, an excellent dining experience!

As a meat and potato guy, who would think that Brussel sprouts would be my favorite plate? Who would guess that as well as local craft beer and cider that they have UC and PBR? Our favorite meal of the trip.
