The Sherwood Inn Pub features mellow wood paneling and a view of Skaneateles Lake across the street. My husband and I had a drink at a small table next to the bar. Crackers and cheese were available as appetizers next to the bar, and the atmosphere was unhurried and comfortable, just right after a long drive. For dinner we moved to another table with a lake view. The waitress gave us a choice of tables since we had arrived just before the busy dinner hours. Service was good, food was great! The Sherwood Salad was my husband's choice, paired with a soup of the day, Black Bean with Chicken. I enjoyed the Maryland Style Crab Cake with the Summer Seasonal Salad. The only very minor irritation was that the Crostini in the salad was a bit chewy. Otherwise, everything was presented and served very professionally. The greens were crisp and very fresh, the mozzarella was light, and the crab cake substantial and tasty. Our waiter frequently checked on us, and the entire staff was very attentive. Don't forget to stop if you are in the area!
