“The BEST authentic Italian food”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

Went for 5th wedding anny, sat at bar.. Had shrimp app which was really good. I had the veal piccata which was excellent. Wife had the rigatoni della cucina.. THE BEST EVER!!!! Literally just "like grandma" used to make.. Not the sauce out of a can/jar, but tomatoes, meats, spices that had been cooking all day. Couldn't get enough, had the leftovers for breakfast next day. Well worth it, will definitely go back next time for same thing. Miss it already..

“When will I see you again?”

Excellent food. Couldn't stop eating although it was much too much. Real Italian food. Service could have been better, more attentive and not mixing up dishes all the time.

“Upscale Italian Restaurant”
Reviewed September 17, 2011

My wife an I walked over to Rosalie's Cucina from the Mirabeau Inn & Spa.We went to check it out first and see if you needed reservations. The hostess suggested we get on the list and come back at our preseleted time.Being a Friday night ,we added our name to the list for 7pm and arrived shortly before that.We were promptly seated by our friendly hostess.A nice table for two not to far from the bar and not crowded by other tables. We were greeted in a hurry and placed our drink order.Warm homemade bread and olive oil with several appointments(grated cheese, hot pepper seeds, and italian seasonings)to be added as needed. Our waiter had an assistant as well and attentive water servers too.Service and the salad, main courses, and dessert were fantastic. The restaurant was dim ,comfortable, and welcoming. Our only complaint was probably the musician (minstrel I guess)and the overall noise. The noise level died down later and the musician was done too.Or perhaps we were getting used to the noise.Anyhow....we would definitely return in we visit the area again. The prices may seem high but, actually not for a restaurant of this caliber.

“Attention to Every Detail”
Reviewed August 28, 2011

Let’s see. Could it have been the music from the sound system that seemingly “carried” us into the establishment, as we left our car beside the vineyard and herb garden? Perhaps it was the warm greeting we received at the door, upon entering. Maybe it was the facility within which we were seated. I am guessing that it was the ambient atmosphere dictated by the feel of a Tuscan motif, and the smells from within a kitchen located in that same area. I am thinking that it was our servers, Jen and Joey, who not only possessed a cordial demeanor, and an infectious friendliness, succeeding unequivocally, they tended to our needs, seeing to it that the evening was special.

I know, it must have been the meal; a meal so pleasing, so satisfying, irregardless of the fact that anything left over could have been enjoyed the next day, couldn’t, as it was fully enjoyed during our stay. We began; my husband with a tomato gazpacho, and myself, with a Caesar salad. Both beginnings, just enough to start, in anticipation for what was to come. Later, his slow roasted pork arrived, which was succulent, and cooked to perfection, while my sirloin paled in comparison to none I had ever eaten! A good idea, indeed, to offer two cannolis as a single dessert menu item, as if only one were to have been presented, there would have been much disappointment in sharing! You know, I really can’t point to one thing in particular that made our evening spectacular, because, in this case, the sum of all the parts is equal to the whole; a whole experience abundantly gratifying from its inception through to the point in which we left with a loaf of warm bread in hand, only to plan another return with much anticipation!

“Don't Do It”
Reviewed August 22, 2011

Overall, an mediocre restaurant at best. From the moment we walked in the door we seemed to be treated as a number (or restaurant speak, a "cover). The male "host" at the door was rather unwelcoming and pompous to say the least. We headed to the bar for a cocktail where we sat for several minutes before being recognized by the one bartender (whose job it was to prepare cocktails for the entire restaurant and bar patrons). We sipped on martinis that were prepared with mediocre attention to detail...poured in an unchilled, tiny "martini" glass.

After being seated we were greated by a fairly friendly waiter, "Joey" as he scribbled on the paper tablecloth. Wine service was acceptable but what was not was the restaurants inability and absolue refusal to make a simple substitution (one type of pasta for another). Our dinners, the bricole and the farfalle pasta were AWEFUL. The bricole itself was extremely tough and the gnocci that accommpanied it were gummy and glue like. The chicken and pasta dish was flavorless, unappealing visually and extremely overpriced...$24?!

The servers Leslie and Joey were the only acceptable aspect of the restaurant. We will NEVER go back and recommend that you don't waste your time or money.

GO ELSEWHERE!!!!
