This motel Me and My husband didn't even get to stay at the Birds nest because the VERY rude owner/ manager "Mr. Evans" Screwed up our reservation night which happened to be OUR WEDDING night so at 8pm on a holiday weekend we were forced to find a place to stay ... we did end up finding a place to stay 45 minutes away from our original destination. No only was "Mr Evans" rude to my husband on our wedding night, he did not offer us an apology stating simply it was a clerical error, and come to find out on the Monday following the weekend our credit card was charged for HIS mistake. Mr Evans had also assured us that this had NOT happened . This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had with a motel and i certainly DO NOT recommend them simply for their poor business practices ....do your self a favor and rent a jacuzzi room from best western, they were cheaper as well.

My wife and I were looking for a motel as we drove through NY state. It was getting late and we found The Bird's Nest Motel.

For $79 +tax ($90)/night we weren't too impressed.

Unimpressive:

1. Sound: The wall are very thin. We were given the keys to the first room and when we walked in the room we could hear the TV from the room next door. We were tired and wanted to sleep so we went back to the front desk and asked to change rooms. Luckily she did this without a problem.

2. Electrical Outlets: We need to charge our cameras and computers. Everything we tried plugging into the wall outlet fell out. Even their lamps and TV's are precariously set into the outlet.

3. Windows. I had to lean over the bush from the outside to close the front window as both manually winding handles had been broken off. Security-wise, this isn't very good as one can open the window from the outside.

Impressive:

1. Free wireless internet: High speed and easy to connect.

2. Very friendly: The front desk was great and allowed us to change rooms without a problem.

3. Air conditioning: Quiet and works well.

4. Free continental breakfast.

Overall:

It's not a bad motel but it needs a bit more TLC, especially with the things mentioned above.

Stayed two nights here in a king jacuzzi suite. As far as motels go, this place is clean, spacious, very well priced and has a great location. I found this place online and was hesitant to book without pictures of the rooms so i made a point of taking some for here :)

This was a real find in the pricey Skaneateles area. It was inexpensive, quiet, pleasant, and very homey. We really enjoyed sitting outside in our Adirondack chairs and enjoying the dinner we had brought "home" from downtown Skaneateles. The resident black lab gave us a warm welcome.

Three friends and I decided to spend our annual golf week in Skaneateles New York a great town to visit. We stayed at he Bird's Nest and had a wonderful time. The owner Bob Evans went out of his way to help us with golf bookings and to make us feel welcome. The rooms we had were quite spacious and clean. The grounds are very well maintained. There is a small pool which was quite welcome during the August heat wave. Each room had a fridge and microwave. The motel is on the outskirts of the village. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and we intend to return. There are several golf courses in the area and Bob is great at recommending which ones to play as he is quite an accomplished golfer. The prices are very reasonable especially when compared to other facilities in the area. Give it a try! I am sure that you will enjoy your stay.
