We have visited this unique and beautiful Inn & Spa several times, and the experience has always been fantastic. Mirbeau is the perfect place for that get-a-way for a few days that we all need every once and a while.
Mirbeau Inn & Spa has recently been featured in the NY Times Best Seller, "1,000 Places To See Before You Die" by Patricia Schultz.
The Spa is an experience that you should not miss. The herbal infused steam room is a favorite of mine. The young staff is always kind and helpful. If you need a few quiet days to get a way by yourself or with someone that you care for, Mirbeau Inn & Spa is the percfect place.
For those on a budget, Mirbeau has just opened up an Adirondak Great Camp style Lodge across the street by the name of "Finger Lakes Lodging" that is a great value. The Log structures and hand made furnishings are great and the beds are the famous "Mirbeau Bed". Guests at the Lodge have preferential privildges to use the Mirbeau Dining Room and Spa just like guests at the Mirbeau Inn.

Visited Mirbeau on July 31, 2004, and I could not believe the beauty of this place. I was a bit scared after reading the negative reviews but upon our arrival, I found the people to be warm and very friendly. The hotel itself seems just like a small village in Europe. The grounds are breathtaking and extremely romantic. And it was the perfect time of the year. All the flowers were in full bloom. We did not get any treatments because they were pricey but we did use the regular spa facilities and they were pretty nice. Although the relaxation area was a bit too loud. We did not eat on the property because the prices were also pretty high and we did not care for the selections on the menu. We did, however, find a great little place in town called the Blue Water Grill that was excellent. The menu options were always great and the prices were very affordable. So, if you are willing to travel the 5 minutes into town, you will have no problems with your meals. And If your intentions are to relax and have a romantic get away, this is the place. It is a lovers fantasy. And remember, be friendly and you will sure get a smile.

Stumbled across this beautiful treasure on our last trip to Upstate. Gorgeous hotel that reminded us of a place we stayed in the South of France.
Most comfortable room we have ever stayed in!
Ate at the dining room 2 nights and were treated to very original offerings from the chef and a great wine list. Service was very European - maybe a little too formal but very friendly and accomodating.
Spa services were good, but a little expensive.
Locals should be thankful they have such a wonderful place in their backyard!

WOW!!!! Loved our cottage at Mirbeau, but I have to agree with a lot of what everyone else had to say. I will say that I've spent much more for way less of a hotel room! Our cottage was clean, beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and luxurious. We only spent $129 for the night, so we thought it was well worth the price. There is a lovely small town atmosphere a short drive away right on the water, but the Inn is set in an "awkward" section of the town. However, they do make an effort to enclose you when you are on their grounds. We didn't get a chance to see the spa, but if it is anything like dinner we probably didn't miss much. We arrived fairly late and the Inn was gracious enough to let us in a minute before closing. This was where we truly understood how this little Inn makes all its money. We got our 3 course meal (that was more like a European lunch...very small portions and supplemented with generous portions of bread) for a mere $10 more than our nightly accommodation rate. Do yourself a favor...stay at the Inn, but go to the restaurant down the street overlooking the lake!

I have ALREADY as a PROUD first time bride-to-be been met with arrogance by the catering manager at Mirbeau. As the only place that looks like it has some charm and can accommodate a wedding party in the town that we felt we wanted to marry in, we sort of feel stuck. Next, after getting the head manager involved, I still feel no better as they are demanding that I work within their set timelines and are raising their voices at me regarding mistakes they've made and a lack of communication on THEIR part. I can't believe I've been swindled by these people and am asking for anyone who stays there between now and next year to please give me your honest impression of the staff. The courtesy or lack thereof as well as the service. Thanks.
