Description: Step into Runyon's and you'll quickly forget about the cars cruising along Merrick Road just outside. Half of Runyon's is a bar large enough to accommodate two or three softball teams and a popcorn machine. The other half is an informal seafood restaurant and grill with cozy booths. There are plenty of options if you just want something to nosh on with your beer; not just wings and chili, but more exotic choices like kung po squid and fried brie. A signature item is the pizetta, prepared with clams, buffalo-style chicken, spinach or pesto, stone-baked on a seasoned pita. There is also a slew of seafood, steaks, burgers, sandwiches and pasta selections, all satisfactory enough for former Newsday/Long Island Press columnist Ed Lowe to mention the place in his essays whenever he gets the chance. -- J. It's a great place for locals in the area. If your Stay-cationing Long Island, spent the day @ The beach, going to A Summer outdoor concert, before /after a movie. Runyons has it all for you. Great Steaks, burgers, other specials from Chef Mahoney. When you sit down you get fresh vegetable platter with there house dip that is to die for. Tuesday Psychic night reading for $20.00, than your choice of what you want to eat but I Suggest 2 for $22 dinners can't beat that for a night out.Staff is always great & very attentive From Chris (manager) Erin is the best wait staff along with Kelly not to excluced the rest of staff who are also great. Of course Matty & Ode behind the bar.

My wife & I dine here about 3 - 4 times a month. It's about a 10 mile drive but worth the trip. Special dinner theme nights each day. Mondays pasta night can't be beat. Wide range of pasta choices including salad, wine or beer & coffee for $10.99. Extensive menu selection. Best burgers anywhere and they will substitute baked potato instead of fries at no extra cost. Steaks, burgers etc. always come out cooked as ordered. My favorite burger combo is chili & gorgonzola. Delicious but messy. When you sit down for dinner they bring a platter of fesh vegetables w/house dressing to each table. Other nights such as Wed. they do a selection of dinners for $12.95, or on Tues. it's 2 dinners for $22. Service has always been very friendly and attentive.
