Hubby and I took our large dog to Schroon Lake today to go to this REAL dog friendly restaurant. It was fantastic! They have a very small menu, but wood fire pizza, though we went with fish and thier Blackened Chicken sandwich. Delicious. The bill was higher than I thought it would be but not unheard of prices.
The outdoor area was very nice and indoors was amazing. It's new, 14 month old business. But boy we were impressed. Well worth the hour drive. Especially the fact they were very happy to see such a well behaved boy. They brought the big boy out a big bucket of water and a cookie.

My wife and I ate here last week. We sat at the bar because there were no tables available. (This restaurant does not take reservations) The food was excellent. Prices were reasonable. There were two guys behind the bar, one around 50-60 years old, one in his twenties. Our only complaint is that the older bartender had one of the worse attitudes of any food service employee we have ever encountered. Zero personality. The younger guy was just fine. Other than that, everything was fine....

Service was ok, food was ok. Reviews and website build this place up to be better than it was for us. The beer was really good. The fire grilled pizza was mushy except for the crust, burger wasn't notable, sweet potato fries were ok too. Our table was in a weird spot by the kitchen but had staff and patrons bumping into us from both sides. Hopefully it will work out the kinks because the building looks new and the outside seating is pet friendly which is a plus.

We recently stopped for lunch at Sticks & Stones. The last time I was here, the building was an upscale Adirondack handcrafted furniture store. The transformation from store into restaurant is amazing and the owners kept the Adirondack motif. Rustic heavy pine, a large fireplace and hardwood floors were everywhere. A birch wood canoe is suspended from the ceiling. The multi-seat bar was inviting and appeared to be well stocked. Several artisan draft beers were also available. I enjoyed a Paradox Pilsner with my meal. Outdoor seating is available during the warm weather months.

I had a cheeseburger served on a pretzel roll that was served with very addictive french fries. Sweet potato fries were also an option. Sticks & Stones also has wood fired brick oven that turns out a small selection of pizzas. The pizza featured a thin crust and the flavor was just so-so. I'm from Italy and a snob when it comes to judging pizza in the U.S.

Service was attentive and efficient despite the large lunch crowd during the hight of tourist season. The manager thanked us for our patronage when we departed. I would return to Sticks & Stones when in the area and recommend it for lunch to the TA community.
