This is a small restaurant slightly off the beaten path but well worth it. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant, this is not the place for you. The food is excellent, the service friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the ambiance of a family run restaurant. We discovered this while checking for restaurants before a play at Proctors, only two blocks away and did not have reservations on a Friday night. The wine was a little pricey but where else can you get good Moroccan wine.

The place is small; the cooking Moroccan, and the location "off the beaten track." The kitchen is tiny; the service is slow, but the ambience and the smells from the stoves are warm, adding to the anticipation; ... and the food is W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L ! Do not even think of going without a reservation

This was a great find while on a business trip. We tried the lamb with apricots, chicken with lemon and olives, and the fish with herbs/spices. It was all wonderful. I will definitely go there again.

What a wonderful place in downtown Schenectady. As soon as you walk in the smells of the Middle East hit you......the staff is very friendly and the owner remembered my name when I said goodbye. The tea is wonderful and the food was great---my chicken with almonds and dates was served piping hot and so good! I am looking forward to going back and trying other dishes!

We would not have found this small, excellent eatery in downtown Schenectady without your tips. It is all true, all of the good, and I want you to know that the upstairs is now air conditioned; it was very pleasant last evening when it was nearly 90 degrees out. We (3 of us so we sampled lots of different dishes) did not find the black decor unclean or cave-like; it was more of a journey to another culture and the food and presentation complete the delight to the senses. On this ratings page, Tripadviser asks "Is this one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant?" I answered yes as the flavors in each dish were distinct and delicious, from the excellent green tea with mint to the very spicy harissa shrimp appetizer to the lamb and chicken tangine and kebabos. This family has a wonderful restaurant; best of luck to them.
