This restaurant excelled on every level, from start to finish. They graciously accommodated our group of 11 and were flexible about adjusting for the possibility of a few more or a few less in our party. They offered us the private upstairs dining room but were open to seating us on the porch or main floor dining room if we preferred. We opted for the upstairs room and since the Red Onion is housed in a pre-1850s farm house, it really did have a charm of it own. The service was pleasant and efficient, with one main server (Sophie) and plenty of extra help when needed. The food was outstanding. We ordered several appetizers and the pieroghi and fresh mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes were so wonderful, we had to order seconds. Every entrée was a hit including steak, lamb chops, salmon, roast chicken, pappardelle and shrimp curry. The desserts we chose topped it all off with a flair (amazing white chocolate-cardamom panna cotta, peach blueberry cobbler, fresh berries with whipped cream, tiramisu, plate of house-made cookies) and even the coffee was excellent. It was a very fun, memorable, delicious experience, special from start to finish. I don't usually write reviews, but this is an experience that needs to be shared. Thank you Red Onion!
