“Go in the warm weather and reserve a table by the falls! They are beautiful- not that we could see them where we were seated!”

Dinner started with the hostess seating us far from the windows. We asked if we could sit near them or the fireplace and she said that all the tables were reserved. There were only 2 other tables filled and they could have easily honored our request, as we had made our own reservations.. Even when we finished our meal, no one sat there. There is also an open upstairs that had a large loud group that intruded on what we had hoped would be a quiet romantic dinner.
As for the food-
The salads had no dressing on them and only 1 of the long list of ingredients was discernible, as the pieces were so teeny. Happily, the drinks were good, the service attentive and the entrees were quite good: wood fired red snapper and the pappardelle with seared prawns.. The key lime tarts for dessert were also good.

“this is no DIAMOND”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

I got taken to the mill because of(OPEN TABLE) reiews WOW do I feel sorry for the people who think its good (per their ratings) This place is nothing but a beautiful, wonderful space, where you can get nothing but good water. If the ham and egger cooking in the back thinks he has it to gother then he just left McDonalds. The only thing that pulled this place out of, lets leave right now was the waitress ELIZABETH. The hostess was a bit of a snip who fit the food, BAD !!!!!!!
i REALLY DONT WANT TO WASTE ANY MORE TIME ,BUT TO SAY, STAY AWAY FROM THE MILLS AS IT MIGHT MAKE YOU WANT TO TAKE THE LEAP OVER THE FALLS.(which are just outside the the back door.

“Very disappointed - really wanted to like this place!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

I was very excited about the opening but I have been twice - once for dinner and once for brunch on the terrace. The service was poor both times and the food was just ok on some items while bland and not served at the right temperature on others. It is a nice location and I would like to go back and eat out on the terrace when the weather warms up but I don't want to pay the price again for food that is not up to standard.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

Was anxious ti give this beautiful new place in my home town a try. We were offered upstairs seating where it would be quiet and more romantic. It was a very nice spot overlooking the dining room and fireplace. Unfortunately because we were kind if out of the way we seemed ti be forgotten. We waited over a half hour to have our order taken. The Lobster Corn Chowder was the best part of our meal. Everything after that was just ok. Probably won't go back.

“Excellent weekend brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

Had an very nice experience at the Tavern today - my wife took me for a birthday brunch. Service was excellent - neither of our water glasses or coffee cups got close to half empty before we were offered refills. Food was excellent. We shared a starter of cornbread, peppery bacon & seared fois gras. The lobster/chorizo/spinach eggs were fantastic - very large portion, excellent flavors & served with salad, bread & a nice spicy potatoes dish. The bourbon french toast was really great as well! All for less than $50 total.
I am surprised by some of the negative reviews here. I am choosing to believe that some were because the restaurant is quite new and it always takes a while to work out the kinks - especially at a high-end & popular place such as this.
We look forward to dining here again!
