Our family of five happened upon the Main Street Restaurant in Saugerties strictly be accident. What a marvelous place to find! We looked at a few other restaurants along the main drag but settled on Main Street because of the heavily influenced Mexican menu. Between our party of five, we had the chicken enchiladas, a chicken taco salad, a chicken avocado club, quesadillas, French onion soup, and the American burger. Everything we ordered was wonderful.
The restaurant itself has a bit of a "broken-in" feel about - like a comfortable leather chair, a warm blanket, or your favorite jeans. The friendly staff and efficient service also helped make for a very nice late lunch. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and well-stocked. Most importantly, the kitchen staff obviously take great pride in their creations.
Our family has been traveling for about two weeks now and this serendipitous find might be the highlight of meals eaten out! Highly recommended for a quick, casual, delightful lunch or dinner.
