Management at this tennis camp in the Catskills is so unpleasant that you have to wonder what they're doing in a service business.
Problems begin with how players are grouped, and with the rule that you stay with a single pro for the duration of your visit. You self-select your level of play. But unlike other resorts, which give it a full morning before they move players around, this program moves players during warm-up, before anyone has a chance to feel comfortable on the court. If you are moved to a group you think is below your skill level at Total Tennis, it's too bad for you. The owner is extremely rude to players who ask to be moved.
His bad attitude is also evident in other parts of this aging resort, which include musty, spartan rooms that don't even have a chair.
It's a shame that a resort so close to New York City can't figure out a way to be more inviting.
