“not the best for the price”

the begining started out fine. doorman were very helpfull. check in was fast, and the girls gave us great direction to our room and the pool area. when we got to the 3rd floor and walked past some of the housekeeping staff. they gave my husban and i half harted smiles.(as if they didn't even want to be there) the first night was alrigth but the next day our room didn't get cleaned till after 3pm. my housekeeper let me know who she was and if i needed anything to let her know. the next day i need and extra towel and and i saw here go into a room, so i went over and was about to ask her but she was turned half way and i could see her texting on her phone.(not very professional) so i ended up asking another houskeeper. i expected the stat to alteas pretend like they wanted to be there. it wasn't my best stay.

I was glad to read that most of the staff encountered were helpful and polite. We work diligently at instilling this in all our team members. The housekeeping staff clean rooms daily from 8am to 4:30 pm and of course are happy to arrange a special cleaning time to fit a guest's schedule. Just let the housekeeping staff know what time is convenient and we will do our best to accomodate the request. I am suprised to learn that a team member did not smile or acknowledge this guest passing in the hallway and was using a cell phone during work hours. We conduct daily pre-shift meetings to emphasize and focus on being hospitable at all times and do not allow cell phone use during work time. Having stayed with us in June of 09, this is good feed back , but a little hard to address at this point. We ask our guest's, if you have a great time, tell everyone, if not, let us know immediately so we can correct it right away.

The very clean & comfy room had "extras" like good lamps on both sides of the bed. The meals at our convention were varied, plentiful, delicious & very nicely served. The location allows easy strolling to all the unique restaurants & stores on the main street; and easy access to the historic spas & parks. But the ultimate strength of this hotel is its excellent staff. We were unexpectedly delayed but unable to give the required 24-hour notice. The person who answered the phone was sympathetic & helpful, as was the desk clerk when we finally checked in; and they arranged to cancel the charge for that unused night. When I casually mentioned how nice the shampoo smelled, I was given a whole bunch of extra shampoos and conditioners. Every staff person was ready to offer directions, restaurant recommendations, whatever. And always cheerfully. We felt most welcome there.

The Saratoga Hilton was a perfect location for our 20+ family members. The service and food really stood out. Location couldn't be better, never used our cars during our stay. This Hilton's got it going!!

I was horrified with this property. I was bitten several times by a bedbug. I searched the bed only to find the disgusting creature! I immediately complained and the finance manager (the manager on duty) was very helpful, genuinely concerned and professional. He did give me a room upgrade to the 4th floor. It seems the higher floors smell better. But my room was still dusty and worn. The first two floors are dank, and musty-smelling. If you are stuck with this hotel as a business traveler, demand the upper floors and examine your mattress. And bring pillows from home. Yuck!!!

There are a lot of alarming stories in the media today to the point of frightening the public into thinking that if any insect bites you in a hotel it must be a bed bug. To counter this, we take a proactive stance at the Saratoga Hilton. The rooms are cleaned and inspected daily in accordance with all Hilton cleanliness standards. In addition, a trained professional regularly inspects the property for any sign of insect activity. Upon the report from this guest, the room was immediately inspected by the trained professional. Fortunately, no evidence of bed bugs, or any other insect activity were found what so ever.
We recognize that our guest's have a heightened sensitivity with this issue. That's why we take precautionary measures and have procedures in place for just this reason.

My husband and I just returned from a conference at the Saratoga Hilton. On Tuesday, November 3, we called the Housekeeping Office to have our room serviced. When we returned to our room, it sparkled, thanks to Melody.

All of the staff were very gracious and friendly. The waitstaff was very professional.

not what i expected!check in took to long, room was to far away. i went up the main elevator and had to walk a mile before getting to my room. the room was musty smelling and the ac didn't work to well. there was dust everywhere! on the furniture and behind it and all alone the outer carpets edge. not to mention i found a dead spider on the windowcill. over all they need to get a better cleaning staff ones that wanted to work and not do a half [--] job. or the inspectors need to do a beter job. i didn't like to pools location evryone who walked by could see you..i would be nice if it was open 24/7 for those over the age of 21 so we dont have to listen to little kids play and horse around.

We welcome all feed back from our guests. The Saratoga Hilton has 2 elevators in the main lobby and 1 elevator in the north end of the building servicing 242 rooms on 5 floors. We have 3 check in stations at the front desk, even when we have a large group checking in, the check in process doesn't take an excessive amount of time. The daily cleaning and inspection of the guest rooms complies with all Hilton brand standards. If you enjoyed your stay, tell every one. If you experience a problem or if something was missed, then we ask our guests to tell us so we may correct it immediately.
The safety and security of our guests is our number one priority, the regulations for use and hours of operation are designed for the safety of our guests using the pool.

As a HHonors Gold member, I expected great things. We were there for the Victorian Streetwalk and so wanted to stay on Broadway. A previous reviewer had a similar experience. After THREE calls and a personal visit by me to the front desk at 11:00pm, our room was FINALLY cleaned. We were out early that morning , returning several times throughout the day and each time asked Housekeeping to take care of the room. After an exhausting day, we had to wait in the hallway at 11pm while the room was cleaned. As for the breakfast coupons we received, they BARELY covered the cheapest items on the menu and the comp breakfast cost us nearly $30.00. I am disabled and parked in a handicapped spot not in the parking area and was still charged for parking - NEVER have I ever as a paying guest at a hotel been charged to PARK there. All of these problems WERE reported at the time to the front desk to no avail. The very next day we decided to leave and check into the Hampton Inn and Suites a block away (also owned by Hilton) where the rate was cheaper and the stay was perfect in every way. I would NEVER recommend this Hilton to anyone and I visit the area quite often.

We welcome all feed back from our guests. This information is acted on to improve the operation of the hotel. Most often the reviews are very timely and we can use the input to address an area that needs improvement. For a response that is almost 11 months old, it's difficult to address as so much has changed. The restaurant is now an entirely diffent concept, as the Union Grille the restaurant is owned/operated by a totally different entity. When the hotel went thru the Hilton conversion daily operations now comply with all Hiton brand standards.
Again, we are thankful for all the support and guideance our guests provide with their responses.
