“bedbugs”
Reviewed June 18, 2007

Beware of bedbugs or fleas. This hotel allows pets.
My daughter and I stayed here in a room with two beds. She awoke with 75 to 100 bug bites scattered around her neck, scalp legs and feet. The bites were severe enough to require medical attention and oral medication. We had to cut our trip short.
Management moved us to another room after I complained, then charged us for the other room and said she must have been bitten some place else. They apparently put someone new into that same room that same night. That was a horrible experience, with poor management.

Our hotel is regularily evaluated for product cleanliness by both our franchisor, AAA and local government agencies. There has never been any reports on infestation of any type at this hotel or any other area hotels. Recent television exposes' have suggested to consumers that bedbugs have invaded all hotels in North America. This is not the case. Bedbugs are visible to the eye and cause bites that bleed. Most incidents of infestation are found in facilites in major metro areas and are brought in with luggage from visitors from developing countries.
I ask that viewers read the other reviews listed to get a real picture of the superior product and service that we offer. We are one of the top rated hotels listed on this site. CHollowood, Operator

Stayed here for two nights. There was two double beds in the room, an ironing board and iron, small bathroom and nice view.
There was no safety deposit box - but I think you could use reception instead. Tiny indoor pool and outdoor pool was closed.
No complaints - great location and make sure to visit Wilson Mall - I thought it was great!

Our outdoor pool is open daily 9am to 9pm from mid-May to Oct 1st. and our indoor pool is open 6am to 10pm all year round. We are the only hotel in Saratoga Springs that has 2 pools and it is the top reason that leisure travelers select us.

Convenient, basically pleasant hotel. Breakfast was only okay, whether included in rate (my traveling companion) or not (me). Dinner was good. Rooms a little small, but I appreciated the refrigerator. Didn't particularly like the thin styrofoam cups provided, and the absence of real glasses. Spent one night. Took my pajamas out of my suitcase when I got home the next day and they stunk -- absolutely stunk! -- of stale cigarette smoke. What's with that?

Property and room cleanand well-maintained. We were upgraded from a room with two doubles to a room with two queens, which would have been nice except that the room wasn't big enough for two queens, and the room was essentially all bed - no room for suitcases, difficult to move around.

Hotel was pretty empty - not a big time of year in Saratoga Springs. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The one thng I really would have liked that they didn't have was a newstand/gift shop.

  • Liked — Clean, convenient location, well-maintained.
  • Disliked — Room size.

Stayed here 2 nights for a quick getaway to the mineral baths - very satisifed and will stay here again. Rooms and facilities are clean and appear recently renovated. Room had all the amenities you need - coffee, toiletries, etc. The hotel has an indoor pool, and internet access - we used both. Did not use the restaurant so can't comment on that, although a few locals had recommended the Sunday brunch there. The location is great if you're interested in the downtown area - a quick stroll gets you right to the middle of town; the hotel also backs onto Congress Park, which is a nice place to have a walk. The downtown area is really nice - lots of shops and restaurants. The Roosevelt Baths, and Raceway, are a 5 minute drive in the other direction. So, we would definitely stay here again - clean, nice amenities and great location.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights while visiting family in the area over the Christmas holiday. We walked in at 11:30 pm and easily got a room after The Inn at Saratoga (across the street) had lost the reservation I made in October and the woman at the desk there didn't know how to check us in. The staff at the Holiday Inn were all very friendly and helpful - the gentleman in charge of security helped us with our bags and showed us the most convenient place to park. The bar closes at 12:00 am and though we arrived for a drink at 11:50 pm the bartender, Michael, was welcoming, frindly and informative - as though we'd walked in at 7:00 pm. The rooms were spacious, clean and pleasantly, though not fancily, decorated. There are two pools; one indoor, one outdoor and a jacuzzi that we didn't use, but did look inviting. Dozens of channels on the TV. Later, while unpacking from our trip I discovered that I'd left a pair of my favorite shoes at the hotel. When I called I spoke with a very friendly woman in housekeeping - they had found the shoes, knew my room number and husabnd's name and they are now sending them to me at no charge. The location of the hotel is excellent for walking to all restaurants, parks, shopping and bars in town. Because we were visiting family and our trip was short, we didn't have the opportunity to eat at the restaurant, so I can't comment on the food. Though this is "only" a Holiday Inn, our impression was that it's a very well run property, with an extremely helpful, friendly staff, and you can't beat the price! We'll stay there again the next time we visit the area!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Srpings NY. Saratoga is a mecca for racing and gaming fans, especially in August. It can be difficult to obtain accommodations. The staff at the Holiday Inn was most gracious. The property was lovely, it had clearly been updated recently. The rooms were spacious, well-decorated, and immaculately clean. The location is convenient to everything. We would highly recommend it to our family, friends, and obviously, those viewing this web site! Good luck.
