We just finished a 3 day stay at the Saratoga Arms. We had a great experience! The rooms and the food were great but the people who own the hotel and their staff are what made our visit very special. Kathleen Smith knows her town. She gave us great dining ideas, places to visit ,and even told us a special place to park our car close to the Saratoga Race Course. Like every great holiday its all about the special people you meet.

We booked three rooms, with plans to attend the Saratoga races with two other couples. The day before our check-in, one of our friends was hospitalized for an emergency coronary procedure. The Saratoga Arms owner and staff worked hard to rebook his room, succeeding in selling the space for the second of the two nights. Our remaining two rooms were in the historic, older section of the hotel. They were spacious, looked recently updated, had a generous sized bath and all the amenities of a big hotel (ironing board, etc.) Breakfast was included and delicious. The blueberry muffins (baked by a woman in town especially for the hotel) were the best I ever ate. It was terribly hot during our stay, and so we appreciated the quiet and effective air conditioning which did not blow uncomfortably on you in bed. We used to stay at this hotel years ago when our daughter attended Skidmore. It has just gotten better in the intervening years. Can't wait to stay there again. Next time I might try one of the new rooms in the back, which might be quieter than those fronting on Broadway.

We just had a wonderful weekend at the Saratoga Arms. We were able to get last minute reservations at the height of racing season. We were a little hesitant at the cost but considering it was just $5.00/per night more than a large mid level chain hotel and was right in the middle of town, it seemed well worth it. The personal service even before our arrival was great - advice about activities, attire, restaraunts, reservations made for us etc. The room was lovely, clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and quiet, even though it was at ground level right on "the main drag". Personal service and attention continued upon our arrival, with further reccomendations, suggestions etc. And the breakfast included in the cost of the room was delicious.

Spendidly renovated hotel with delightful personnel. Enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend it for many reasons: Location, lovely breakfast, lovely owners, and right on broadway a place in which affords one walks to racetrack, gardens, many many restaurants, and short drive to SPAC and museums. You will definitely enjoy it all. M & M Rosa

The past four years we have been staying at the Saratoga Arms the same weekend in July and would not consider another place to stay. The hotel is immaculate and the service is always helpful and available. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a comfortable stay, friendly staff , convenient location and extremely accomodating service. I feel like I am going to a beautiful family home for the weekend without any obligations. Everything is taken care of. We will see you next summer.

Saratoga Arms.... what a charming hotel in downtown Saratoga Spings, New York. My husband and I were passing through from a trip to Quebec City in Canada and needed a place to stay on our way home to Pennsylvania. We drove into town and I immediately saw the welcoming wraparound porch with beautiful hanging baskets. I thought... this looks like a possibility for an overnight stay. My husband and I were greeted graciously by the owner who was very knowlegable about the area. She gave us some dinner options of some of the fine restaurants in the area. The room was not only inviting but also very clean. The amenities were more like a four star hotel. The breakfast was very good ( an Irish breakfast ) and we noticed that some of the guests asked for different options. The staff granted the requests without fail as they were very attentive and willing to please. It was unfortunate that we only had one night in Saratoga Springs, but would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys fine accomodations at a reasonable price.

We stayed at Saratoga Arms for two nights - one in June and one in July - on our way to and from vacation in Vermont. The hotel, which is located right in the center of town, has been restored and modernized in recent years and is extremely comfortable. Our rooms were large and quite luxurious. The beds had extremely comfortable mattresses and bath was well appointed. We were very impressed with the efficient and friendly service provided by the entire staff and all went beyond what might be expected to be of assistance when my wife had a fall as we were returning to the hotel. A larger, first floor room was provided and the staff provided extra help throughout the day and night of the incident. The hotel owners, the Smiths, were most solicitous and kind as well.
