not impressed with this restaurant. I had already had a small breakfast and was only going to get a small side dish due to the fact we were going to be going to a wedding later. The only thing I wanted to order was cornbread, figuring that from what people said that this was a good restaurant, so cornbread should have been decent. WORST cornbread ever. hard crust, super dry it was hard to eat the whole thing, was really really disappointing after all I love corn bread. One side dish, def a thumbs down.

Went to Hattie's with my wife and daughter, we were excited after listening to all the hype with the Bobby Flay throw down thing. O.M.G. what a disappointment.appetizer's were badly presented , not hot and over priced. Fried chicken dinners were not mind blowing, dry, not highly seasoned, and ridiculously expensive.I mean common since when do 3 guest only drinking iced tea in a fried chicken joint spend $97.00 not including $20.00 tip ! Could have enjoyed Popeye's $12.00 bucket a whole lot more.Oh yea, they need a self closer for the front door.

Try the blackened catfish. Outstanding!!
The only issue I have with Hattie's is the awful drinks. You can't even taste the vodka.
Good service, but slow on a Saturday evening.

So, how many remember Ma Hull's Boarding House in Inman Park, Atlanta? How many more remember Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room in Savannah? The food is classic and there's plenty of it. It is so with Hattie's in Saratoga Springs.

The front dining room is my favorite. It's filled with memorabilia from Hattie and friends and you can see what's going on in the bar and sometimes into the door of the kitchen. The paint looks worn; the tables and chairs have been used and used; the checkered tablecloths set the stage; and the food smells like a little bit of heaven. Clearly, the place is all about comfort food.

I ended up at Hattie's at around 1:15 on a Sunday and was seated immediately. The staff is friendly and the menu interesting. I ordered the Crab Cakes Benedict without hesitation. While waiting, an assortment of interesting, artsy folk floated in - taking seats near me. They all ordered devilled eggs and waffles with fried chicken. Everything looked great. And my Crab Cakes were piping hot with deliciously creamy poached eggs on top with lots of Hollandaise. Yum...even the toast was good. Come in...take your jacket off...and indulge!

Great Southern cooking, nice people, cool atmosphere, fine drinks, good portions. Famous for its Southern Fried Chicken. Frittata was wierd but all the rest of the food was amazing.
