While in Saratoga we went to Longfellows for dinner after a day at the track. We chose this restaurant as they are a "sister" to the Olde Bryan Inn where we had an excellent meal the night before. Luckily it was not real busy and we were seated right away. Similar to Olde Bryan Inn, this is an older building, very rustic and a lot of charm. We were warmly welcomed by the hosts and our server Rebecca was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. We chose a stuffed meatball entree which was also offered on a 3-course special menu that included soup or salad and dessert. It was a great meal and I would highly recommend this entree. This restaurant is not located in downtown Saratoga and is a little out of town, but definitely worth the trip. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

We had company up from New Jersey this weekend and I took them to Longfellows. Have been there 6 times before during the last few years and have never been disappointed.
There as some rooms with different decors that I prefer more than others, and this time was in one of my least favored rooms, but the place had a significant crowd...and there was also a wedding in progress.
It was still a nice spot compared to any restaurant i've ever been in.
Despite the number of diners and that there was an event in progress, our service which was initially slow, picked right up after drinks, and everyone was very happy with the drinks, appetizers, and entree's. My appetizer was the best Clam Chowder i've ever had, and my duck breast was cooked perfectly. Another guest had a shrimp/lobster dish with adequate portion of lobster and loaded with larger shrimp. ( i forget what it was called, but she just referred to it, as 'Not a Skimpy Scampi'...
And the waitress and other staff were outstanding.
Can't comment on dessert, as we didn't partake...

We were three, with three different entree's - All were delicious. Our server, Charlie, was most excellent - timely but not hovering, gracious but not pompous, and he added to our great experience. This was our second time in 2 years to this restaurant (we don't live very close so this is a special occasion place for us) and both times the food, ambiance and people were all excellent.

Hardly anyone was there, and we waited and waited for our entrees. People who arrived long after we did received there's first. Ran out of water twice.

Hosted a dinner presentation for 15 here recently. We were booked into a lovely room upstairs that overlooked the koi pond below. The room was exceptionally accommodating and spacious and our server was attentive and caring. Appetizers were beautifully arranged just outside--the mushrooms were amazing! The menu was diverse and our guests received enormous portions of very good food. Fist-sized meatballs were most impressive as was the salmon. An excellent night that greatly enhanced our mission.
