Description: The PJ's BAR-B-QSA story begins in the mid-1960s, when Carolyn and PJ became high school sweethearts in their hometown near Buffalo, NY. They married, graduated together from college and became elementary school teachers. They began a small catering business out of their home and spent their summer vacations doing barbeques and county fairs. Eventually, they bought and operated a seasonal barbeque restaurant, while continuing to teach. They finally stopped teaching to devote their full attention to operating PJ's BAR-B-Q. Over the years, PJ, Carolyn, and their son Johnny added the country's regional barbeque favorites to their menu. They went on several barbeque road trips to make sure they were authentically representing these regional favorites. PJ's BAR-B-QSA now operates year-round, featuring barbeque from Coast to Coast. If you'd like to experience America's time-honored regional barbeque favorites without traveling across the country, you can take "A Taste Tour of American Barbeque" right here at PJ's BAR-B-QSA. Happy Trails!

“Best brisket ever!”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

Stopped in after hiking in the Adirondacks. Ok that we had mud-spattered shoes and pants.
Ordered at the counter, and waited for our number.
Inside and outside seating were both available in late afternoon.
Chose the brisket platter; this came with meat, fries, and cornbread, and two sides.
I had the mac and cheese and coleslaw.
This brisket was absolutely the BEST I have ever had! Mac and cheese good, and coleslaw so-so. Would go with the creamy corn next time.
Live DJ with fun old-time music.
Wish it were closer to home!!

“Best Texas brisket outside Texas ”

And great ribs and sides too. I'm bbq critic and KCBS judge.
No, it's not competition bbq, it's great eating bbq. PJ himself regularly visits the guests and makes everyone feel at home. You the loganberry soda, a PJ original. This is one restaurant that I'm both glad and sad that it's so far from my home. However, it will be a regular stop off 87 on all future trips.

“BBQ in Toga”

Have not tried everything but the North Carolina Pulled Pork is very close to the real thing. They use a vinegar based sauce and the way it should be. A lot of places claim they have NC BBQ but then the sauce is red. Here it they do it right.

PJ's is bad... The food, service, prices all of it....we happened to find another bbq place right outside of Saratoga that blows this place away. Don't spend your money here for disgusting food. Go to Mr.Eds. much better food.
