Description: Mio posto is a petite American Italian restaurant located in the heart of Albany, New York. Our attention to detail creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for sophisticated dining. Danny Urschel's goal is to continue to develop mio posto with the intent to serve fresh, uncomplicated food to continually produce a gratifying experience for our guests. The menu is ever evolving. Based on local products and seasonal specialties, the menu is a culmination of thirty (30) years of expertise and experience cooking (and eating) with a great number of amazing individuals. With each new day, we pay respect to our past, while embracing innovative concepts and ideas.Whenever possible, we source products locally and use family-owned purveyors. We encourage reservation but are happy to have walk-ins, in space permits.

Looks can be deceiving. It may be a small restaurant but believe us, you will have one of the best meals you have had. You must make reservations in advance. I made them a week in advance. Started with the mussels, rustic bread for dipping, then Danny's salad following by the Veal special all superb. Last but certainly not least was the amazing delicate but delectable coconut pie. All accompanied by a bottle of wine as recommended by the waitress which would compliment anyone's taste or menu item.

My husband orders the veal chop every time we go and he says its the best he's ever had in his life.
I love the chopped salad, duck breast, and chicken Marsala .

“Nice little restraurant”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

In town for the jazz festival weekend and looked through tripadvisor recommendations, called at 5pm and they had one table available at 6pm. So glad we decided to go: 1. service attentive but not overbearing ( and certainly not snooty) 2. timing by kitchen right on the mark 3. food fresh, not overcooked or over seasoned. Would love to go back next time we are in the area

“A small gem worth finding!”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Ok, did the research and found Mio Posto as a top selection in Saratoga Springs according to Trip Advisor. A recommendation by a personal friend clinched the deal...let's go. Wow, our expectations were exceeded! It was our anniversary dinner, so we wanted comfortable, romantic, personalized and great food - and we got all of it! Our waiter sets the standard for attentive service without being in the way. The food...OMG....so fresh and tasteful. A bottle of wine perfectly suited for the seafood and steak main course was so enjoyable, and the coconut cream pie for desert that we spilt won't soon be forgotten! This isn't a large place with all the ambiance that goes with paintings on the wall, chandeliers, and stuffy leather chairs. It is, however, an intimate, hands on place where the chef/owner and his wife put out meals that will keep you coming back for more because of the variety, taste and distinctiveness of the menu.

“very good but not great”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Given the past reviews we were anxious to try Mio Posto and decided to head there on our wedding anniversary. As noted by other reviewers the space is very small, the kitchen is close by, but the intimate feel of the place seems right somehow for the type of food they serve. The wine list is not extensive but well chosen and the bottle markup is quite reasonable. Our mussels appetizer was excellent. The plentiful mussles were tender and in a well balanced flavorable broth of garlic, tomato and basil. The veal entree was nicely plated but was underseasoned. The scallops entree was also nicely plated, but the scallops were a little on the bland side. I thought the prices of the dishes were reasonable for the higher end Saratoga market and the quality of the ingredients was good. Service was adequate. The ambience was a little strange given the 80's rock music in the background, the obvious intent to make this a high end restaurant yet the feel that you were eating in somebody's kitchen. All in all this is one of the better restaurants in Saratoga and I think it is a good value for the quality of their dishes. However there are some quirks that keep it from being a great place.
