Description: Mio posto is a petite American Italian restaurant located in the heart of Albany, New York. Our attention to detail creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for sophisticated dining. Danny Urschel's goal is to continue to develop mio posto with the intent to serve fresh, uncomplicated food to continually produce a gratifying experience for our guests. The menu is ever evolving. Based on local products and seasonal specialties, the menu is a culmination of thirty (30) years of expertise and experience cooking (and eating) with a great number of amazing individuals. With each new day, we pay respect to our past, while embracing innovative concepts and ideas.Whenever possible, we source products locally and use family-owned purveyors. We encourage reservation but are happy to have walk-ins, in space permits.

I normally avoid Italian food in the USA, because it is taken to mean pizza and pasta. But here is a genuine Italian dining experience, with wonderful food and ambience to match. The place is small, really just a hole in the wall where you can see back into the kitchen, but you'll experience something close to a Genoese trattoria. Limiters menu (good) starting with half a dozen antipastas, some creative salads, and - as is traditional - a range of pastas in small or large portions. Opt for the former and save room for the wonderful mains. Mine was beautifully braised scallops served with an impressive observer risotto and asparagus. Wine list is good and reasonably priced. Service like your mother's. you'll want to come back.

Definitely check out this surprising hole-in-the-wall restaurant. From the luscious coconut cream pie to the tapas, this place is a find. Crusty, warm bread, tasty seared scallop risotto, an asparagus salad, golden beets with goat cheese (delicious!) all satisfying and nicely presented.

Great food with very solid service. There are only a handful of tables (max 10) in Mio Posto, so you know the kitchen is providing you with their best and your server should ready to help at a moments notice. Every bite was great.

Lucky to get a reservation at Mio Posto for this occasion. Once again Chef Petrosino did not disappoint. It was a busy night but the service was very attentive and courteous. We were a party of six and a couple of first-timers, who were awed by outstanding dinner that was served. No one makes a veal chop or lamb chop any better in the Capital District than this Chef. Wine choice was excellent and all sampled desserts after a fun evening. Can't wait to go back to the restaurant as it is consistent and probably the best in Saratoga.
