This Marriot Courtyard is ok but not well taken care of. I am not a cleanliness obsessed person but when you're paying $200 plus per night you expect them to hire competent cleaning staff. There was dust on everything. The room (218) looked like it had not been dusted in 4 weeks. There was some black and reddish mold in the shower grout which could (should) be cleaned with a small amount of effort. And the lovely granite counter top in the bathroom was kind of clean except around the corners and the faucet which looked like someone didn't have the time or desire to clean it properly. The skirting around the bed was stained, the upholstery on the bench was stained. And as someone mentioned in another review, the air conditioner is very loud. Way louder than my my loud window air conditioner at work. Perhaps on par with the air conditioning system at Super 8 or Motel 6. Too loud for people who don't like to sleep with loud noise in their room. And too loud for a $200 plus room. I've stayed at the Hampton Inn in Saratoga Springs and it appears much cleaner and it's probably worth the couple of extra bucks. However the Marriot could be a nice place to stay if they get their housekeeping act together. One last thing. In the year 2012 ythey should have Green Tea in your Tea selection in the lobby. And Real milk (and perhaps even soy milk!), not that nasty, chemical laden artificial coffee creamer junk.

ANOTHER YEAR STAYING AT COURTYARD IN SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY AND HOW THEY MAKE OUR TRIP BETTER EVERY YEAR IS BEYOND ME!! Megan Hennessy and her staff are so friendly and accomodating, you truly feel this is the ultimate in hotel stays. The rooms are immaculate (I am a little OCD when it comes to that) and whatever we need is simply at our fingertips....If you enjoy the royal treatment, look no further than this hotel...NEVER DISAPPOINTS any of us.

Room Tip: We've stayed on every floor, and the noise level is nil....

Rooms are excellent and staff is most helpful everyone has a smile on there face considering some of the jerks that show up and try and intimidate the staff (I would be fired immediately lol)
The car service they use "All occasions Limo Service' is great, 20 bucks in a classy sedan each way in the area...Bottom line...MUCH better then the holiday Inn...only draw back...dinner food is average at best, if you plan to have dinner....dine out there has got to be at least 500 restaurants in town anyway (Bar is good at the hotel and breakfast buffet for 10 bucks a person...excellent!)

This was our first time staying at a Courtyard Marriott and it was a wonderful experience; we have been going to the races at Saratoga in August for several years and have usually stayed at another hotel; I was very impressed with the handicap facilities that this hotel offered in rooms and in the pool area; the rooms were very clean and everything was very comfortable; the staff at the front desk were very accommodating Breakfast in the dining area was really great; the lounge area and bar were also very comfortable and the availability of computers and on-line access was also great; will we return? you can bet on it!!! and we will tell our friends as well; it was a great 1st time experience;

If I could have given this 4.5 stars, I would have. Why not 5 stars? While this Courtyard is far more upscale than many I stay at all over the country for work, it's still not top of the line especially for the prices charged during racing season.

But let me tell you, we would definitely stay here again. It was a great property for many reasons. First of all, due to my gold status, we were able to check in early. Our room was very spacious, with an extremely nice bathroom. The room included a large flat-screen TV, mini fridge, in-room safe, and a microwave.

The furnishings were attractive and relatively new, the bedding was comfortable, and all of it was spotless. The only negative in our room was how loudly the air conditioning unit was. In the middle of the night, it was really loud and disturbing. And since it was pretty warm during our stay, turning it off at night was not an option.

The front desk staff were super! Informed, friendly, and professional. I can't say enough about how nice everyone in the hotel was.

We loved catching the old-fashioned trolley over to the track. That was a great option for people at the hotel, and very reasonably priced. The Concierge had options for Clubhouse seating for purchase and good suggestions for dinner, etc.

We did not eat or drink at the hotel, there were so many cool options around town. Loved Olde Bryan Inn for dinner, which was a short walk from the hotel. Also had a phenomenal dinner at Sperry's in their garden area. If you want an inexpensive, down-home breakfast option, try Compton's on Broadway. And finally, have a drink on the roof of the Saratoga City Tavern. What a view!

All in all, I highly recommend the Courtyard and hope to be back next year!

We had 3 of us, which the room accommodated comfortably. This Courtyard to me is a bit more upscale compared to the average Courtyard product with all of the customary amenities expected. A very comfortable place to stay. Note that you are not right downtown but a little beyond the outer northern edge. It is walkable but that's a very healthy walk so we typically drove and had no trouble with parking even though it is August. Saratoga Springs' downtown is terrific with a lot of small shops and great restaurants.

As long as not being right downtown is ok, I highly recommend this establishment.

Room Tip: I don't think there is any discernable difference from 1 room to the next.

Stayed here in January 2012 with a group of friends. Resonable price for Saratoga. Wonderful service at check-in and check-out. Rooms were very nice, clean, and comfortable. A short walk to the downtown restaurant and bar scene with plenty of on-site parking. This will be my first choice next time I stay in Saratoga!
