“Unique Date Spot”

Tang Teaching Museum
Attraction details
Reviewed February 22, 2014

I recently visited the Tang Museum while I was on a date before dinner. It was actually a lot of fun and had some really unique art. It was kind of small but it is part of Skidmore College and overall very cool. I will definitely be checking more out at Tang!

A charming place to visit while touring Skidmore College. The gift shop has some delightful jewelry. Would like to see all of the rotating exhibits!

This small museum is a delight. The building itself is worth seeing from both the outside and the inside and the exhibits of art by students, faculty, and others are interesting and worth seeing. The museum also has a small gift shop with some excellent crafts and gifts. My wife found a beautiful pair of handcrafted earrings.

The Tang Museum is very easy to get to (just keep going down Broadway) and there is plenty of free parking. There are several galleries with rotating exhibits. We visited on a Saturday and there were plenty of knowledgeable staff around the exhibits. We spent about an hour walking around. It felt like they could have fit more into the spaces, but perhaps that was just what the specific exhibits that were there at the time were like.

The museum is a real plus for the college which is already well known for its studio arts program. Lots of space for different types of creativity.
