It's definitely a place to come by and see on a tuesday when the horses are on break. Come early in the morning when the sunlight is on the roses, it gets shaddy pretty early.

“Nice little historic gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Take a moment to stop by the Yadoo.
This place is just by hwy 87, exit 14: enter by Union ave.
There is a small parking and you can walk to the gardens.
Most of this property is private but the gardens are open to the public for free.
There are 2 adjacent gardens: a garden of roses and and garden of rocks.
It's nice to stroll around the gardens then sit on the grass of the huge lawn of the Yadoo to relax a litle before heading back downtown or to the races.
You won't be here that long unless you decide to take a nap on the grass.
We can't call this place a "must see" but it is for sure a Saratoga classic.

“Wait for the Roses”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2013

The Gardens at Yaddo is a small garden that is part of the Trask estate. The mansion is now "home" to resident artists seeking a place to focus on their craft. You can't tour the house, but the gardens are open to the public. We wanted to see the estate so we took a ride- the rose garden is a good size, but April is too soon in Saratoga to see any growth on roses , much less flowers. The terraced garden is still impressive if you can enjoy it for it's own sake. Statues were still under cover from the winter months and the grounds need some tidying, which will undoubtedly be soon, to prep for the season. Wait for June or later for the full effect.

“Pretty and easy to walk”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

A great place to stop in and stretch your legs after school with the kids. The fountains are pretty as is the trellis. Would not plan to spend more than an hour there as there is nothing to do there other than walk the small gardens.
