I have only missed this event about 3 times in about 15 years. It is one that can't compare.
For a full day a fantastic music, food and meeting new people and connecting with poeple from previous years, you can't beat it.

You race in to find the piece of real estate where you will set up your chairs, blankets, coolers..whatever it is you want to bring in..kick back and relax..the sky is blue and a gentle breeze thru the pines..You just could not ask for a better day..

Bony James, Diana Krall, Chris Botti, Steven Kroon, Brian Culbertson and Michael McDonald, just to name a few of the greats..

The festival usually happens the last weekend in June. Check it out on the website and plan for one of the most enjoyable events of the summer. Plus, you also get to check out Saratoga Springs a beautiful town.

Been going here since 2001 and was here many times this past summer concert season. Most concert venues are a cookie cutter venue from city to city. This venue is surrounded by tall pine trees and a creek. The bridge you cross after entering is great as you look down at the creek way below. The lawn is rather small (especially for sold out shows) and doesn't have the best sightlines but I typically sit inside anyways which is a real treat. There's not a bad seat inside as it's a pretty small seating area especially since 1/3 of the seats are in the balcony which is a great view. As well, sound quality is top notch. The concession area keeps getting better with more relaxed beer sales and good yet standard food options. I personally like the the tent for Esperanto's which has great food. There is a bathroom area by the concession area but tends to always be packed. If you're sitting inside, there is a bathroom area down to the left and if you are on the lawn head back to the very back of the lawn in a large building called the Hall of Springs. Staff here is great as well, very friendly and super helpful. I love this place and plan to keep coming back year in, year out.

My husband and I have been going to the Saratoga Springs Jazz Festival the last weekend in June for over 20 years! It is the perfect venue to enjoy great jazz music in the beautiful outdoors performing arts center. The fest is 2 days Sat/Sun, from 12noon til about 10pm. You can buy tix for one or both days and for the amphitheater, lawn or both. Tents are allowed in certain areas. Bring your food, coolers, tables. There is a large craft tent where vendors sell their wares- food, jewelry, clothes, arts and crafts, etc. The food vendors have some really delicious goodies- from smoked turkey legs to cajun food and many things in between, including vegetarian. You can purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. After a set musicians have been known to mingle with the fans as well as sign CDs at a designated area.
The city of Saratoga Springs is lovely and really sparkles during the jazz festival. Restaurants and lots shopping. Also the famous Saratoga Racetrack. Lake George is nearby with lots of shopping outlets- Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Nine West, Eddie Bauer, Banana Republic, etc.
I highly recommend the jazz festival or just visiting the area, it's really special.

No Saratoga Water at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center? What happened to buying local? Besides that love the ballet, orchestra but don't like not being able to bring in anything for a picnic etc...
