“OK - Everyone eventually goes here, but do we have to?”

With the few choices available in this beautiful area - it is a shame this logical choice is just mediocre. Wine selection is average, marinara sauce is pasty and the eggplant parmesan was very bready. The spaghetti and sausage with meat sauce was good and the bread rolls were fresh and warm. Have not tried the pizza but it looked a bit thick crusted - not my preferred. Good service and centrally located near the lake.

“Best Pizza in town”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

This is a nice little place, with sit-in dinning that has a lovely little view out the back of the river. The pizza is very tasty, non-acidic in nature, when made consistenly, thin crust and cheesy. They also have a nice menu of typical Italian fare. Prices are ok, some are a tad high for what you get; decent atmosphere, esp if you're in with a group of friends.

There are several gaffs though. Their salad is skimpy and needs more pizzazz, considering it's pretty pricey, they truly need to add more to it. Or at the least, lower the price to make it look more equal to what you get.

They also have flies frequently, which is a put off not matter where you go. It implies a lack of will and of cleanliness when you go to a place when there're flies buzzing around you, landing on you, and in general, being a pain in the butt. One word, EW! That needs to be taken care of.

I went and got a slice and a salad. The person brought us both at the same time, by the time I got to the pizza it was iced cold, and when it was brought it looked like it had been sitting for a while. the cheese looked congealed. I would've flagged the waitress down and asked for another, but she was bustling around with other tables and didn't come over.

Also, there is a lack of consistency, in the pizza at least. Sometimes it's thin crusted and the edge not doughy, other times it's the opposit. Consistencey is key in dinning, whether at a little mom and pop place, or a fine resturant.

I might sound harsh, and like I really hated the place, but that's not the case. It IS a cute eatery, and the staff is generally attentive, friendly, and polite. The food, overall, is great. I would recommend this place definitely.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

Little Italy is everything a small, around-the-corner pizza joint should be. Although I'm not sure they would appreciate being called a "pizza joint," because they have more options than that, but... We visited twice this week: once for lunch, once for dinner. When we walked in the door for our lunch visit, we were immediately greeted by the smell of fresh basil! We had pizza and it was excellent. For dinner, my husband and I both had the eggplant special and our children had the meatball sub and pizza (again). We all enjoyed our meals. The servers were attentive and friendly both times, and the prices are more than reasonable. Definitely recommend it!

“Great North Country Pizza!”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

This is a good family restaurant that serves excellent pizza, with wonderful toppings! The veal parmigiana is also very good, as are almost all the Italian dishes. The portions are very generous. The atmosphere is casual and the service is informal. It is fairly small and can get crowded during the busy season, so get there early.

“Awesome place to grab a slice!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

When driving through Saranac Lake we stopped at this very popular pizza place. It was packed with locals, which we knew was a good sign :)

They have fresh plain thin crust cheese pizzas sitting at the front and you can add any toppings. Their selection of toppings is huge! The staff are really friendly and the service is speedy. The prices are super cheap comparatively.

My only warning is to not order the mushrooms if you aren't a fan of the canned ones. However, if you like the canned mushrooms it's your lucky day!

I suggest getting your slice(s) to go and sitting across the street by the Lake...it's breathtaking!
