So we look at it as options. One option is to drive to Albany, take the Amtrack to Penn Station, check into a hotel, take the # 9 train, transfer to the F train, walk six blocks . . .. Or, call ahead, go to the Eat n Meet, maybe wait a few minutes and get the real NYC experience for food, "atmosphere," and watching Chief Varga do his magic. Who would ever think to put these ingredients together? I tend to be impatient, but some things are worth waiting for; we love good food. This is good food. We only get to Saranac Lake a few times a year, we were there last week, three trips to Chief Varga's cooking treated us to lobster several ways (special dinner), fried sardines, Cuban pork pot roast, and quail with gravy over grits. Check out the on-line daily menu and do yourself a favor and take the option of eat n meet.
