“Best Restaurant on Long Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

We have been enjoying Eric's cooking for more than ten years. We find this is the only consistently excellent restaurant we frequent and the fact that they have a BYOB policy makes it an excellent value as well. Outside of Le Bernardin in Manhattan, Eric prepares his fish dishes better than any we have had where elsewhere. We love to cook ourselves and I was thrilled when my husband surprised me with a 60th birthday party and catered it with Eric's amazing duck confit egg rolls, braised short ribs, ratatouille, and flourless chocolate cake - heavenly. You must reserve for weekends a month in advance but weekdays are much easier to get a table. And conveniently, if you can't get a table head a mile or two east to the lovely Kitchen a Trattoria which is every bit as good!

“Charming Find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

This is such a charming restaurant. I felt like I was at a quaint country Inn. The menu was a pre fix, of 3 or 4 course, and the waiter also mentioned an a la carte option, but for $48 for a 3 course and $58 for a 4, its a steal. We started with Steak Tartare, nice size portion, and very tasty, and the Gnocchi, which was a huge portion, almost too big. For our entree we had the Duck Breast, plump at a perfect med rare with french lentils, and the prosciutto wrapped Veal, tender and tasty.
Dessert was also wonderful. BYOB, no charge, is incredible and sealed the deal. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and casual. My two cents would be that the staff did not have any uniform , they were all in different street cloths. And the Gnocchi was so big, I couldn't finish my meal. Cant wait to go back.

“One of the best restaurants on Long Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

Food, food, food. That's why you go to Kitchen A Bistro. Some of the most delectable dishes can be found here. Not a place to go if you are looking for hamburgers or ribs - the place has quite a bit more eclectic choices on the ever-changing menu. A casual ambiance puts you in a relaxed mood. You can bring your own wine, too. Wait staff is super helpful and friendly.
Reservations a must on week-ends. I try to go during the week when the crowds are more manageable. The place has gotten more and more crowded over the years as more people discover this gem.

“Tasty and inventive gourmet food in a casual atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2012

nice casual atmosphere with consistently good food and an everchanging unique menu. they have a nice wine selection but you can byob at no charge. Staff is always friendly and attentive. The only drawback I can think of is that it is gourmet food so the portions are on the small side if you're a big eater.

“First class all the way”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

This restaurant is in the same location that the old Mirabelle was in. A lovely house, set very privately, with plenty of parking. The food and service were impeccable. A place for a romantic meal for two, or a group of 8. Think more refinement, rather than loud and boisterous. An interesting and wonderful idiosyncracy exists here. Although they have a full bar and wine list, you may bring your own wine, from your cellar and not the local liquor store, and there is NO corkage fee. Let's hope they continue this policy. Patrons should keep in mind the quality of the wine they bring in. Also, CASH only.
