My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Forever Bungalows -- it's not a typical hotel by any means (so don't expect that), but it was unique, different and offered a few secluded nights away from the city. Much like a hotel, there is free coffee at the lobby and toiletries available in the rooms. But unlike typical hotels, there is a lot of outdoor space with a hammock, firepit and tons of greenery just outside. Also, you can opt to stay at their beach bungalows which come with a full kitchen stocked with kitchen tools and cookware, a living area and a separate sleeping area - like staying in a private, modern, cozy cabin. It's also located well, albeit, off of a highway, but super close to Sag Harbor town, driving/biking distance to Montauk and close to other towns in the Hamptons. It's also pet friendly - our dog loved being there. Would definitely go back but for a longer stay!

Room Tip: There are some bugs because it's in a heavily wooded area.

I am not sure why the previous review (while entertaining) was so negative. I have stayed in the Hamptons several times and was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations at FB. If you are looking for clean/new rooms on a budget & want to be close the village of Sag Harbor, this place is great. Sara at the front desk was very helpful and had great suggestions in terms of what to do while in town. In keeping with the previous reviews, internet connectivity was a bit of a challenge and so that was my only issue. If you book this through Groupon and get a good deal, you will not be disappointed.

When we realized the reception was located in an old garage, we sensed these may not be luxury accomodations. Forever bungalows is one step up from sleeping in your childrens backyard tent. Old 1920 built cabins have been converted into old 1920 cabins which have been decorated by the dollar store. The room consists of a bed which is about 3 inches off the floor, two folding chairs and a shelf which serves as a table. There is a kitchen area with stove and refrigerator and a bathroom with mini sink and shower. We had a two night voucher from Travelzoo but one night was more than enough. We were packed and out the door by 6:00 a.m. the next morning. I suppose this type of accomodations would appeal to someone but oher than Davy Crockett or Daniel Boone it's difficult to imagine who. There is an additional charge for new towels.

Room Tip: Go to the Holiday Inn

It's impossible to guess why someone would write a review like this -- it is obviously mean-spirited, but also simply filled with inaccuracies -- Among the MANY inaccuracies is the year our hotel and bungalows were built and renovated (they were in fact constructed in the 1960's -- the hotel was thoroughly renovated into boutique modern rooms in 2012 when we took it over, and that same year we updated the 6 bungalows with a modern bent but kept a certain 'bungalow' kitsch) All the furniture, linen, bedding, etc come from a mix of places including West Elm, Crate and Barrel, CB2, Pottery Barn, Chillowich, Ikea -- Nothing from a 'dollar store' - standards of design, build, color, are extremely important to our guest's experience -- we are proud of our product, and comfortable with how much our guests usually enjoy the look, design, feel and vibe of our place. We don't charge for towels -- and we even give beach towels. When guests do have an issue or complaint we try to deal with it immediately and strive hard to make them happy -- the people who left this angry review never brought any issues to our attention.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed both of our stays this summer at Forever Bungalows this summer. Allistair and his staff are particularly friendly and responsive and care about their guests experiences. I would also like to share a big "shout out" to Sarah who was always kind and returned calls and emails. The hotel rooms were recently updated, clean and modern with just enough amenities to get you through a long summer weekend. The location is right between both Sag Harbor and East Hampton so easy access to both fantastic Hamptons towns. The prices are fair for high season in the Hamptons and they are almost always booked. (Sadly for me when I tried to make other reservations this summer).
My only recommendations for Forever Bungalows would be to include daily maid service, while I know that they are green and eco friendly, this would be helpful for guests coming and going from the beach and outdoor activities. And also offer perhaps more snacks/food options in the office since there isn't a deli or store right nearby.
I/We look forward to going back next summer (with my dog). It's the type of environment where they remember your name and you aren't just "a guest"!

Room Tip: Note that there isn't a pool or fitness center.

We chose this place mainly cause it was pet friendly. What a find!!!! Nice quiet area. We stayed in a private bungalow. Very clean. The grounds are in great condition. Bon fire at night. Great location. Minutes drive to everything.
We will defiantly be staying again here next year....I highly recommend this place
