Had dinner here during a recent business trip. Sat solo at the bar.
Heard good things about the restaurant but almost missed the place walking through town as the sign seemed a little non-descript, at least to my eyes as a newcomer.
Excellent and efficient service at the bar. Not overly friendly, but very professional. Decent selection of beer and wine. Cocktails not overly inventive or modern, more on the classic side. Nice, cozy fireplace just off the bar.
Atmoshpere is typical high-end steakhouse. Dark, rich mahogany library feel. Seemed to be a very affluent country-club clientele. Much the power-player scene. Lots of talk of summering on the Vineyard, etc.
Had a pre fixe menu which seemed to be a good deal. Variety on the menu was a little lacking, and not overly inventive. Even so, all the standards were there.
The signature salad was not out of the ordinary, yet tasted very nice, especially with the accompanying side of gorgonzola. The food came out very hot and fresh. Portions were adequate, but not overwhelming. Didn't get any bread, so can't comment on that. Many steakhouses I've been to have "interesting" selections of bread, either warm, or onion crusted, or an assortment of breads. Don't know the deal here.
Overall, if you're looking for the usual, classic, old-school "power steakhouse" feel, you won't be disappointed. But don't expect anything contemporary.
