“Bad burgers”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

After a tour of the East side of the lake, we were happy to find the Knapp Winery Restaurant. Location is beautiful and a sudden rain chased us in from their vineyard patio - also lovely.
We both ordered the 8-oz. Black Angus burger and immediately had to send both back to the kitchen as each arrived very rare. Even returned by our nice server, hers never made it to medium. My burger had nearly no taste at all, certainly a disappointment. When my wife cleared the toppings from hers and took a bite, she agreed that bland was the word. No good burger flavor. No refund offered though our server seemed genuinely apologetic; no visit from management. Bad show, Knapp.

“Best Winery on Cayuga Lake's Wine Trail”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

This was our favorite winery on our (self-guided) tour. The staff was the most friendly and informative and the tasting was well throught out (we chose our own wines to taste, but the staff gave their recommendations based on our preferences too). Great shop, location and overall atmosphere. Appropriately priced too. We'll definitely go back.

“A must on the Fingerlakes Wine Trail!”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

The staff is great. There is a man there who has an endless supply of limrics. I could listen to him all day. They really know their wines and different combos that work well together. Especially the Grappa and Loganberry wine. Watch out for the Grappa though; very strong!

“Great Restaurant”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

After visiting winery after winery, it was great to take a load off and enjoy some really delicious food! We had a delcious cheesesteak (with a bean salsa) and a garlic scape pesto hummus sandwich, as well as a bacon/chicken sandwich, all of which were perfect.

Lots of locally grown ingredients, creative dishes, a nice environment, and inexpensive wine pairings/tours make this a great break from the wine trail!
