Friendly service, great pizza and a nice atmosphere. Plus, the owner is very nice. I love that I live within walking distance of this restaurant!

“Nice Italian Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

Nice Italian food. We've been here serveral times and like the food. The salads are wonderful and fresh. Pasta dishes are great too. The waitstaff is friendly and very accommodating. They are tucked away in a little shopping center. This was my mother's favorite place.

“Italian like Mama used to make”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2012

WE have eaten at Caruso's three times. Each time it performs beautifully. Tonight we had mussels with a dreamy creamy basil sauce, papardelle loaded with 8 or ten whole clams swimming in a scrumptuous sausage ragu, and delicate gnocchi with a spicy bolognese sauce. They also feature an outstanding selection of American and Italian wines at very reasonable prices. The service is warm, attentive and efficient.
This restaurant is two steps above the Sea Basin, which is not too bad in itself. There is nothing formulaic here. Each dish is lovingly and individually prepared.
Hooray for fine cuisine in Rocky Point.

“Best Kept Secret in Rocky Point”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

The daily specials are great. The service is excellent. Stop in for a slice of brick oven pizza or be delightfully surprised in the dining room. In the summer there is outdoor seating .The chef owner/cook presents fish, meat, and other main courses.
The waiters and service people are attentive , friendly, and relaxed. The 5th star is on a price to
quality basis.

“Hard to believe how good this little restaurant is!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2012

This little gem is off the beaten path in the hamlet of Rocky Point on Long Island's North Shore. Attached to a pizzaria you walk through to enter, you at first don't expect much.

Stay, it gets better. Much, much better.

A smaller than normal, Italian menu (in NY, you expect an Italian restaurant to have pages and pages of offerings) helps you narrow your choices. Soups are excellent and house made. Salads are pretty standard, upscale restaurant fare. The mussles in pesto cream are to die for. The artisinal meats, cheeses, olives and artichokes is excellent.

My personal favorite is the Jumbo Scampi & Artichoke Risotto with Lemon Pesto, everything is perfectly cooked, the lemon pesto is bright and the perfect compliment.

They offer a ricotta creme brulee which might have you ordering a second, it's that good.

There is a nice little side patio that is open during the summer. And they offer an unbelievably low priced lunch Monday - Saturday for $10.00, and the food is top notch.

Find this little hidden spot and enjoy. You'll be so happy you did.
