We have been going to Dario's for nearly twenty years. Just read a couple of reviews posted. Yes, its kind of expensive but not all that bad. Decor inside is cozy and sophisticated - you really feel a little apart from the world, and thats a good thing, because, its actually in the middle of everything in Rockville Centre. We have had many great meals there and are always welcomed warmly by the staff, who are all dressed in Tuxedo's and will recite the menu for you or specials, before giving you the actual print menu. Their Salmon Dario is the best I've had anywhere, but every dish is good. Servings at lunch ARE smaller than at dinner, its true. If you want fast food then don't go to Dario's, but if you like ambience, very good humoured service as well as wonderful food, then its certainly worth a try. Years ago, they had Rose Ice Cream, which actually tasted like a rose, and to me is still memorable as it was so delicious. It might be crowded some nights of the week, so call ahead or try going earlier in the evening. This restaurant has been around a long time and the sons, Paul and Dario (the chef) of the original owner, Dario, are doing something right if its lasted this long and is still such a popular destination. .
