We spent 4 days at this Hampton in June. We were there for a wedding in Rochester. The staff was wonderful. When we asked to move our room after the first night the front desk staff was very accommodating. When we needed to find a certain location, they immediately found it on line and printed the information for us. It was just a wonderful, relaxing visit.

We've stayed at this hotel several times when visiting family in Rochester and have always had a good experience. Staff has been very friendly and helpful. We've had pizza and cake in the lobby with grandchildren and they're ready to assist with anything we've needed. Pool area is good for the kids visiting; we've requested rooms near the pool and have been able to get them each time. Nice fire and big flat screen TV in the lobby. Hotel is dog-friendly, although we haven't brought our dog with us yet.

I was in Rochester on business this week (June 2009) and stayed at the Hampton Inn North. The room was very comfortable. Free WiFi is nice (but not enough bandwith for streaming movies). The gym has good new equipment (I heard the Marriott Courtyard did not have a gym). Breakfast was adequete. The place was neat and the staff was very nice. There is a great walking path just outside the fence. It is nice to be able to exercise in the the fresh air before heading into the office.

My wife and I stayed here two nights over memorial day weekend for a wedding. We rented a car and drove from the airport. It is really a quick and easy drive until you actually have to find the hotel. We had directions from the internet, but still it was hard to find. There is a very small sign off the main road (Ridge), but other than that it is off a side road and tucked back behind the trees. The location ends up being very nice though. The hotel has close proximity to the highway, but you can't hear traffic because of the tree barrier. Staff was very friendly on check-in and had our room open early. The bed, as others have commented, was very comfortable. The hotel itself was very busy and somewhat noisy. I think if you end up higher than the 2nd floor you may not hear some of the outside noise. Breakfast had pretty good choices. Some eggs and sausage even! Did not use the pool since we were always back later than 10 PM. Also, used the free wireless and iron in the room. Both worked well. I agree that the hotel was a little pricier (even on a wedding "discount"), but we had no major complaints.
