Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside

Although I am local, I stay at this hotel once or twice a year due to various charity events at the convention center. They did a great job on the remodel. It looks fresh and updated. Except the gigantic 80's chandelier need to GO! It was a little gross prior to that. The tub are is still a bit gross though. I will agree with one other reviewer in that when we went to the hotel bar, the bartender we had was very rude. A guest came in and aksed for directions to a place that wasn't too far away. She said "I dont' know I just pour drinks" and walked away. My husband and I gave him directions. The other bartender that was there, a younger African American guy was super nice and very friendly. All in all I would stay there again but I would not go to the hotel bar if that girl is working there.

check in started a bit weird. i believe we had gotten the rooms on expedia or some other website like that, and apparently the hotel hadn't recieved the papers yet, but anyway they gave us the room and we came down a few hours later and they said all was good.

first thing, the elevator their is super fun, lol. its one of those that like launches you up and its just fun to ride. the rooms were great, clean and "high tech" they had lcd tv's and a nice view overlooking the river....bad side to that...we could easily look down and see old men tanning at the pool in thongs...ew. when you go to this hotel you must go downstairs and have their breakfast. its really good and the guy that makes the omelets is really cool, and funny. also another plus to this hotel is very convinient parking deck. also, if your in town for a bit, (mainly summer only) go for a walk around town. its extremely beautful. i caught some great pictures of some nearby churches and other buildings nearby.

one downside for us while we where here was apparently their was a border patrol conference or something like that and on our way back from our walk around town we saw around 20 people out front of the hotel protesting and several cops and news people also nearby....i guess the hotel isn't really at fault for this but it was kinda freaky seeing it all at first....angry mob outside of hotel yelling.....

anyways i would definately recomend this hotel it was a terrific hotel.

Went to see concert at Blue Cross arena...5 min walk...check in staff were friendly, helpful and very polite...went to concert and returned at 1130 pm and desk staff and security very nice....room was average...windows dirty...bar was supposed to be open until 2 am....bartender rude and closed bar at 1145 pm as she was "tired" leaving our group to go find a bar nearby...not the nicest of neighborhoods....never saw so many police in my life...expected a drive by shooting....overall if you are looking for a place that is easy to get to, close to arena...this is the place....

My husband and I stayed here for one night over the weekend. We were reasonably happy with the room, as it was comfortable, large and clean. However, the area amenities were pathetic. We could not find an open restaurant, corner store, drug store or anything like that. We ended up having to order Pizza Hut to our room, because there was nothing open in the area (this was Saturday evening). The hotel restaurant was never open while we were there. The bar was, but you could not order food from it. The next day we looked for a place to eat breakfast, but had to settle on McDonalds. Nothing was open!

The front desk staff was extremely lacking in knowledge about the area. Didn't know where the Auditorium Threatre was (only 1.5 miles away), no information about area restaurants, etc.

It was really annoying to have to pay for local phone calls.

Although the hotel itself was fine, the area certainly wasn't.

We stayed with a large group of people for the labourday weekend DCA Championships. I&E were being held at the hotel, so there was a LOT going on that weekend. The staff was very friendly, helpful and went above and beyond for our group. They hooked us up with conference rooms for our corps meetings, they had the courtesy shuttle van take us to the show, out to dinner, all at no cost to us. We couldn't have asked for better staff, everyone was so polite and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, and hope to stay there again next year for Championships. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

While the accomodations were fine, the bar was closed and downtown Rochester is not the place you want to go walkabout at night looking for a cocktail.
The restauarant was only doing a rather meagre buffet....and breakfast was just as bad. $12 for a cold bufffet of scrambled plastic eggs, burnt bacon and fried potatoes. And they ASKED for a tip when all they did was serve a glass of orangejuice(not in the buffet selection).

They need to get their act together quicky in regard to the bar and restuarant

We were very disappointed with this reservation. When we arrived at the hotel, they explained that "Expedia overbooked" and the room we requested was not available. We were downgraded to a room with one bed, which was unacceptable to us, but too late to do anything about. Then they explained that they had no available parking due to a wedding in the facility, and I had to park in a garage 3 blocks away. The room had a very musty odor, and there were problems with the plumbing in the room. Black sediment came out of the faucets, there was very little water pressure in the shower, and the toilet would not flush. When I complained, they sent someone from maintenance who worked on the problem, but did not fix it. The next day, there was another wedding and still no available parking. The hotel was very crowded and because of this, the elevators were very slow. We were so fed up that we checked out a day early.
