We recently stayed at East Avenue Inn and Suites for the first time. We needed to stay near the Park Avenue area and the location could not have been more convenient. It is somewhat disconcerting to walk through the unrenovated area to get our room, but the room was great (we were upgraded to a suite). Fabulous bed and really good towels. The breakfast could use some improvement, but from the signs, it looks like a larger breakfast room is in the works. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Thank you for taking the time to review The East Avenue Inn & Suites. We're glad you enjoyed your stay here. Its nice to hear you were in Rochester to visit the nearby Park Avenue neighborhood. Most of Rochester's arts, entertainment, dining, and religious hot spots are within walking distance to The East Avenue Inn & Suites and we're always happy to hear about customers who take advantage of our central location. Thank you again.

They're mid-renovation, and definitely making improvements over the dump it used to be. The rooms are nice except for a rather creepy painting hanging next to the bed and lack of ventilation in the bathroom. I think $89 or $99 would be a more reasonable rate until they have some amenities. There is no breakfast room, exercise area, pool, etc. Or, perhaps they could team up with a local diner and offer some free breakfasts to hotel guests.

I'm not sure why they renovated the far end of the hotel first, but you have to walk through the old hallways to get to the nice end. Don't let that turn you off. The new rooms were done nicely.

The parking lot is amply lit, although the old security fence is still there; it's in poor shape. It should probably be replaced with a solid fence that blocks the view and access from the road. That would greatly increase the appeal.

Overall, four stars. I'd come back if they had a real hot breakfast.

Thank you for taking the time to review The East Avenue Inn & Suites. We're glad you enjoyed your stay here. We'd like to let you know that within the next month we plan on opening a brand new breakfast room and conference space. Additionally, we expect a new restaurant to open in the building adjacent to the hotel in approximately 6-9 months. We hope you visit us again as the renovation progresses. Thank you again.

Was in town to see a show at the Auditorium Theater, and this was the closest place I found. The outside doesn't do much for me, but really liked the interior and the set-up of the rooms. Very well done. When I checked into the room, it was very cold (no surprise, many are like that). Turned on the heat when I left for the show. When I returned (very late) I found that the heater was not working at all, and it was freezing cold. I was also just about over a cold. I walked to the front desk and was told that there were a few rooms having issues. At around 2am there weren't a lot of options. I put MORE clothes on and went to bed. Upon checkout, I didn't know what to expect, and my cold had gotten much worse overnight. The manager apologized and made things right (and in this day and age, you never know what to expect). As a result, I would definitely stay here again....

Additionally, its also nice to hear when one of our guests attends an event at the Auditorium Theatre. There was still a noisey in the halls and rooms late at night--but this is in the middle of the bar scene neighborhood so it is expected.
All in all great staff and location, nice room, limited continental breakfast, but handy
