Quality Inn Rochester Airport

This was an Expedia "hidden value" hotel--similar to Hotwire where you book a hotel without knowing the name of the hotel. It was rated 3 stars, which I would say is generous. The hotel is located conveniently off i-390 and readily accessible to everything in the area.

We checked in without problem and stayed in room 115. The room was clean and spacious, although there were visible signs of aging and wear. The carpet was worn in spots and there were water stains in the bathroom ceiling. The bathroom could also use a small table or something to place our toiletries, we had to place our items above the toilet.

The fridge, microwave, and coffee maker were greatly appreciated.

Breakfast is included and was quite the surprise. The eating area was bright and spacious. The offerings were bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy. We could make our own waffles. There was choice of different breads, fruits, juices, coffee, tea and yogurt. It was very good.

We stayed three nights and not once did we hear any noise from the hall. Parking was ample and the front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. Complimentary newspapers at front desk, but not the local paper, which would have been appreciated.

I'd recommend this hotel to someone who is searching for a clean, basic, convenient hotel. Its definitely not a destination hotel, but a good home base if you're to visit the surrounding areas.

The best thing about the stay was the value. When I checked in, the greater hardly said a word and recited check in information like a robot while the other person behind the desk talked on her cell phone. The room was cold when I entered and the door separating my room from the adjacent was unlocked and open. The fridge made a loud, repetitive clicking noise. Breakfast was your standard fare.

I stayed at the Quality Inn Rochester Airport to be near the Univ. of Rochester for Meliora Weekend. It met all of my needs perfectly and actually exceeded my expectations: Clean room, comfy bed, fabulous shower, essential toiletries provided, lots of breakfast choices including healthy ones, and absolutely superior service. I was delighted to learn that the hotel provides a free shuttle that will drop you off within a 5 mile range. In fact, the driver made sure that I made it to campus in time for the keynote speaker despite heavy traffic. It was a busy weekend for the hotel, with parents visiting and a youth sports event. However, the hotel was peaceful and quiet and I received personalized attention despite the fact they were booked to capacity.

While this inn is quite a bit older, it is clean and well kept. No frills -- except for EXXXXCELLENT SERVICE FROM EVERYONE! Service was like staying at the Hotel or a beautiful resort.

Sept. 14th ,15th, 2011.We stayed 2 nights here on vacation largely because the staff was SO friendly. We were on the type of vacation with no specific plans except seeing Niagra Falls then see what we see. The Rochester area was fun and the surrounding wine country area was beautiful. We were greeted at this Inn by Shantell at the front desk. She had a big smile and sparkle in her eyes. She really enjoyed people and was a big reason we stayed another night. The room was clean and comfortable. The HOT breakfast in the am was outstanding. We chose this hotel because of a coupon deal..not expecting the greatest but we were blown away!

This has been our go-to hotel in Rochester for several years, and we stay there a couple times yearly . It's been reasonably priced, comfortable, convenient, and had good enough service. A recent trip had a number of shortcomings . Among them: The desk clerk was unable to give us a phone # for a taxi service (this seems incredible, but true). Her assistant did give us a number for a taxi service - her boyfriend who was starting a taxi business- this seemed a little informal and dubious, but as it turned out the taxi was just fine. But the idea that the front desk didn't have a roster of known taxi companies??? There was a wet spot on the carpet in the room. If you didn't get to the breakfast early, the supply of juice, etc. ran out. It took multiple requests to the desk to get a bottle of shampoo, to go with the two conditioners provided. All little things, but the overall feel was that the competence level was declining. As said, until this trip we've found this hotel quite adequate, so mabye this was just a bad week.
