The statue at the entrance to the park has been standing for a long time. It is very impressive. If you have an interest in Douglass, I'd encourage you to find the little park next to Susan B. Anthony's house where there are beautiful bronze statues of "Susan B" as she is known locally, and Frederick Douglass. They are seated close together, and the title of the work is "Let's have Tea." Beautiful rendition of two gigantic historic figures from the area.
