Went to Avvino for the first time last night, and it was as great as everybody said it was. Ben the bartender is a pro, Janine the owner probably knows more about how to run a restaurant than anybody in the business and it shows. Amazing wine list, my steak was perfect (had a glass of the foxglove red zin with it), we had the heirloom tomato salad (with watermelon....who knew?) and the risotto balls for apps. Everyone else at my table loved their entrees which were the carbonara, the pork tenderloin and my favorite was the squid ink fettucine w calamari. (If you want something unique and fresh and incredible, get a nice chilled glass of white and that dish.) I'm getting it next time.
The servers are experienced and fun. Warning: call for a reservation early because they were booked solid but luckily had a cancellation so they fit us in.
