Three of us dined here on a Saturday night - it was busy early but jammed by the time we left at 9:30. This is obviously the current hot spot on the bar scene. We were in the upper back room and it was quieter than the rest of the upstairs and certainly downstairs. If you want to be part of the "be seen" crowd this may not be the room you want to dine in.

The staff was super friendly and the server was very attentive and efficient. The beet terrine was excellent and a big portion. The salmon was also excellent and well presented. The short rib was not quite that good and the burger was disappointing especially at $18. I've had much better gourmet burgers around town for less. The pumpkin soup was just ok and it should have been served hotter.

Overall the service was great, the food was good, the prices a bit high and the entree portion of the menu somewhat small.

Bar staff is incredible when it comes to making a cocktail. Not sure what you want, just ask, or let them know what you're interested in. Pickled beet deviled eggs are a great take on the old pickled eggs one use to find in bars to help soak up the booze. Can't wait to try the fried pickles. LAter in the evening the bar can get crowded and loud, but hey thats to be expected in Rochester as people want to go to the new places.

What a nice surprise!! The Revelry is located in an old saw factory, the building has character and history; nice to see a class building recycled for a new purpose.

We dined early on a Friday night and the bar was hopping when we arrived. It looks like the perfect Friday night post work spot to unwind.

We were taken upstairs by the hostess. On the way we walked over a glass floor that was actually the ceiling to the wine cellar, that was different. Stairway upstairs is steep so if you have mobility issues it may be troublesome. We did not see an elevator to the second floor but that doesn't mean there isn't. If you have a need then I would ask when making reservations. There are a few tables in the bar area as well as a patio, but in New York in October only the hearty would eat outdoors.

The menu is small, by far more appetizers than entrees.and they did have a daily special. There was no bread service, we purchased the signature basket of buttermilk muffins that comes with two spreads, both were very good. The muffins were very small, a little over priced.

Salads were very good and quite seasonal. Preparation and presentation was very good, and price was reasonable. Entrees were very good, but portions were very small for the price. The entrees are also seasonal, our party ordered the duck, short rib, and fish. All were very good, but again, overpriced for the serving size.

Deserts are interesting and different. Again, selection was small, servings were small, but presentation and taste were very good. My wife enjoys a latte with desert but the barista machine was broken so she settled for a regular coffee. I was happy because my tea of choice is plain Lipton and they had it.

Cocktails are pricey, but creative. Our son in law was very happy with the draft beer selection, limited choice but all quality selections. Wine list is comprehensive and they had what we ordered so no complaints.

We will probably return again to give it another shot. Our biggest negative is the amount of food or drink for the price.

Just enjoyed a delish lunch with drinks at The Revelry in ROC on Culver Rd. Walking in I always notice the architecture around us...and I am always a huge fan of older buildings that have been redone. So much more character with exposed beams and bricks...than drywall on metal studs. We are very lucky here in ROC to have so many of these existing buildings which have become entertainment venues. For lunch we had the Country Fried Chix Wings...the poutine...and the salad with the shrimp. All were delicious..!! We sat at the bar...and everyone from the bartender...to the owner...made sure our lunch experience was very enjoyable.

When we met our friends at 6 pm on a Wednesday evening, we were the only party on the main floor dining room, and no one was at the table "under the glass floor". At 7:30 pm we still did not have our entrees, in spite of two suggestions from our waiter that our meals would be coming soon. He offered to bring more drinks, which were eventually taken off the bill, but he did not tell us up front that they would be on the house. Bar was very loud - don't sit downstairs unless you have nothing to say to your dining partner. Food looked interesting but wasn't special for the price. Sorry but ten dollars for a tiny cocktail, even when the bartender makes a show of the shaking, is too much. We won't be back.
