We went for the first time this evening to this quaint and cozy locally owned restaurant. Upon entering, we were confused about where to go to be seated, but after wandering past the bar, we saw the small host station near the coat closet. The dining room is small, but the tables are arranged in way that, while close together, there is plenty of room at each table. The decor is not overdone, the lighting is nicely dimmed and the entire place is clean and comfortable. The staff are attentive and friendly. There is a waiter assistant who takes care of clearing plates if the server is busy, also constant water refills and fresh bread refills are taken care of by this assistant... very nice service! The salads have lovely mixed green that are fresh and crisp and the Italian vinaigrette was lovely. My husband ordered the Porterhouse steak which was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing - definite plus since I am the one who wants Italian and all he wants is meat!! I ordered the chicken parm and it was a huge serving with tender, delicious chicken and delightfully al dente pasta. The red sauce is tasty. We didn't have room for desert, but I don't doubt that it would have been remarkable. Be sure to introduce yourself to the host/owner on your way out so you can say hi when you return - I promise, you will want to return! A gem in the Rochester, NY dining world!

only regulars are greeted by the bartender when they enter...
Asked Dawn to recommend a a special martini...nope she doesn't drink... she had no idea...with a blank duh look..
She was not into the menu and satisfying with her suggestions..
When we called ahead as we were celebrating a birthday..told they would make a dish to accomodate us told otherwise when we asked...maybe a bad day..too bad for us..a teaspoon of sauce on our pasta ....asked bus boy brought more ..he was the best should be a server ...
The owner visits at the tables of people he knows...maybde afraid to hear comments

We have been dining here for years. The food is always superb, the wait staff is tremendous, and the atmosphere is intimate. I especially recommend the Chicken French.
I had my daughter's baby shower there also, and everything was handled perfectly.
My only criticism is the size itself. It can be hard to get a table as the dining area is very small and they don't take reservations for parties of less than five. But, if you go early, you usually don't wait long.

We were staying at the Hampton Inn next door, and arrived at Pasta Villa to find that that wait would be over an hour. No problem, the maitre d' said - choose your meal and we'll deliver it to your room at the hotel. I would have preferred to eat at the restaurant, but this was a perfectly acceptable alternative.
The food was delivered within a half hour, and was very good. Large portions and hot.

Second visit to Pasta Villa, and both times after we wonder "why dont we go there more often?". Standard red sauce dishes are great and HUGH, but the specials are worth listening too. While others mention the small space, the staff & owners (family run) go out of way to make sure you're taken care of.
