I went to the Highland Park Diner in Rochester again on Saturday evening. I no longer live in the area but make a point to return to the Diner every time I am in town. It maintains all the charm you want in an authentic American diner, while providing wonderful food and terrific service. I had the wonderful warm turkey dinner and topped it off with real authentic chocolate cake (real cake a man loves, not a mousse cake or tort!). This is the real deal and I am so glad each visit remainsa strong reminder "Real Americans Eat Here".

If you like men in daisey dukes flaunting their stuff go here. If you are looking for a family restaurant McDonald's if right down the street and the food is better tasting.

We went to the Highland Park in Rochester to check out the lilacs and other flowering trees and plants prior to the Highland Park Festival. After a nice walk we went to the Highland Park Diner. This is an institution in Rochester. An authentic diner. We noticed they had upgraded the decor and it was done very well. The menu also has been upgraded with panini sandwiches and several other items. We had paninis and they were very good. Of course they serve "real" old fashioned milk shakes. Mine was Chocolate Cherry and I still can think of how good it was and chocked full of cherries. YUM!

Stopped for dinner on a busy Friday night. Service was friendly as usual. Meatloaf dinner was diner solid. Chicken artichoke sandwich was just ok. Milkshake very good. Chicken was dry & bacon rubbery. After many visits our conclusion is they do much better at doing breakfast.

Although the Highland Park Diner is small, the menu is huge and much more extensive than a normal diner. It took quite a while to make a selection as so many of the menu items looked appealing. Food was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. Service was outstanding.
