Description: Veneto is a casual dining restaurant located in downtown Rochester's East End district. For 13 years, we've specialized in from-scratch, light Italian food in an old world atmosphere. Our atmosphere is upscale, yet casual. The kitchen is our centerpiece, as it should be, and set up so that you may watch your meals being prepared right in front of you. The exposed brick in our 150+ year old building and wood furniture provides a warmth and if that's not enough, the wood fired pizza oven reaches 600 degrees. We'd be honored if you would dine with us and let the food, service, and ambiance speak for itself. Our Signature offerings include wood-fired pizzas and hand-made pastas.

As usual, great food. You cant go wrong here with food or service. Their pizza and pasta= delicious and there are good choices for vegans. Atmosphere is nice, and you can make reservations. Highly recommend.

My wife and I have never been disappointed in the food, wine or service from Veneto's staff. Jillian, Joel, and Suzie make you feel like family, and appreciate your patronage. The food is great as is the location, variety of specials, and of course, the people. It is our "Go To" ROC restaurant. The ingredients are fresh, varied and the dishes prepared with perfection. Try the putanesca pizza if you like shrimp and anchovies. The salads are fresh, large and filling. Thanks to the entire staff for welcoming us back again and again....you make our night out a wonderful experience.

Bottled wines rather overpriced. When a Canadian thinks liquor is overpriced in the US, it generally is.

If you want to eat on Saturday eve., make a reservation, and be sure to 'demand' not to be seated at the table that sits in the entryway. Although I love the food here, having to endure sitting in that particular spot almost wrecked the dining experience. I say it did wreck the experience were it not for the wierd group of 3 guys sitting in the middle of the restaurant, gawking like newborn pups at every female who entered the place (I'm a guy, so hardly over-sensitive to this issue). Watching them stare without any sense of consciousness, was almost worth the seat. On most occasions, we sit at the counter. You don't face your company, but after enduring the endless in and out traffic hovering around our table, who would care. Also, at the counter, you get impeccable service, as well as having the experience of watching the workings in the kitchen. Also, be prepared to pay to park. And the parking tickets at the lot on the corner take about 3 minutes to print and dispense. This is a goofy situation, and coupled with a seat at the door, makes for a pretty grim evening. So I just want to thank Curly, Mo and Larry for the entertainment. Great food, for sure....
