Owner description: As one of the world’s premier music schools, the Eastman School of Music has been enriching the musical life of Rochester since 1921. Today, the School presents more than 700 concerts a year in the magnificent Eastman Theatre, intimate Kilbourn Hall, and the modern Hatch Recital Hall – providing the Rochester community with an exceptional opportunity to experience world-class music in a world-class setting. The School’s rich and diverse concert season features prominent guest artists, our own acclaimed faculty, and our incredibly talented students and ensembles. No matter what type of music you prefer, you’re certain to hear it at Eastman: Classical, jazz, and opera. Symphonic and chamber music. Early music, new music, world music – there is something for everyone! The general public is welcome at all Eastman concerts and performances. Remarkably, most concerts are free; those that are not are modestly priced.

Our family attended a University of Rochester graduation. Structure was amazing - a good view of the stage from all angles. We had to wait half an hour to be seated but that just gave us plenty of time to take pictures. Only downside is that bathrooms were downstairs and a little outdated. Senior members in our group did not look forward to all those stairs.

Been going to listen to various concerts and presentations by the students of the school for a couple of years. I have never been disappointed. if anything I have always been delighted. No wonder the Eastman school of music is so reputable

This is one my favorite places to go in winter. The Eastman school of music does lots of free concerts with the students playing. If you're in Kilburn Hall it might be too packed, but if it's in the Kodak Hall then you'll have no trouble finding a seat. Check their website for these free concerts. They usually start in November-December and end in April since it's a school.

If you want top flight music, theater, or performances this is your theater. One of the best in the country. An impressive old world venue. Don't miss it.

Wonder architecture and acoustics for the many fine concerts played there. Our own Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is outstanding - Rochester is a music city and thanks to having the Eastman School of Music here - quality musicians come often to add to our already fine musicians.
