The particular performance is very expensive for middle of the road seating. Hockey tickets are more reasonable. In general the space between the rows of seats need more knee room.

The arena is in need of updating for sure. People mention cheap parking but for the area parking prices at covered garages are high. The seats are old, uncomfortable and have very small leg space (worse than economy seats on an airline). Acoustics are not good. Food is available but depends on the event. It is probably OK for sports, but going to other events like dance or shows at this venue is not great.

Parking is plentiful (but will cost $5-$10). Arena isn't bad. There are some bad sight lines in the 200 section. but 100 level seats are good. During an Amerks game there are lots of vendors selling food and drinks. But for less populated events (Circus, Disney on Ice, Razorsharks games) only some of the food stants are open and the selection is more limited. Not a bad arena, but small compared to an NHL arena.

This is NOT a premiere place for concerts or sporting events. Seating is totally cramped. Seats were installed when built in 1956 and seating room has never been updated, even with remodeling. Added seating is high up and does not offer good viewing. Most cities have replaced arenas with newer venues. A building over 50 FIFTY years old needs replacement. If your over 5' 6" be prepared for sore knees. If you are over 6' forget it.

Our family of four attended a Rochester Americans hockey game at the Blue Cross Arena this past weekend and we were impressed with the entire experience! Parking is affordable and nearby and the Arena is clean (including the bathrooms); concessions fairly priced and, atmosphere is definitely family friendly and fan-friendly! Unlike most major league arenas (and we have been to several in different cities and for different sports), this is not about gauging fans and overwhelming them with jumbotron noise and excessive distractions so you don't think about how hard it is to see the event from so far away and with so many people crammed into overly small seats! Like a minor league event, you can get close to the action and feel like you are part of a community - but this place melds it all together so perfectly! The staff (online and in person) are very helpful - we had questions, coming in from out of town - and all our needs were handled personally and efficiently - kudos to Rob C. and Ed! The Amerks site offers all kinds of specials for the games, so it is an affordable and fun event - don't miss it!
