How many indie theatres are left in this country? Bet not many. This one is one of the best. The coffee shop they have there is also a great place to go after a show.

The Little is the place to go for independent and foreign films in Rochester. We regularly attend the Sundance Film festival and can be assured that the films we dont get to see there can be viewed at the Little. We just attended Beasts of the Southern Wild, which we heard about on almost every wait list line we were in at Sundance.

The snacks are great, there is a reasonable restaurant attached to the building with 4 of the 5 screens with music many nights a week.

The Little is also a venue for local film festivals, most recently the Jewish Film Festival, which was excellent.

the one drawback is the seats which are not the most comfortable.

We've seen the best films here over the years. These are the international, low budget, independent films and not the boring big box movies. Great place with a nice cafe and live music on the weekends. Also really good deserts.

The Little is Rochester's setting for non-conventional films. The coffee shop in the lobby is always humming and usually there is live entertainment. The seats in the theatre are a bit old. The Little is a focal point of Rochester's East End Entertainment District.

I love the Little. Even though there are several films playing at once, the setting seems intimate. Although the popcorn is very good, available refreshments go beyond basic movie fare, since there is a cafe on site. I enjoy popcorn & coffee (or one of several tea choices) during the show, followed by dessert afterward. Check the website to see if there will be live music in the cafe.
