Faboulous place to take children. An absolute must do for children in in the Rochester area. We have a membership and go for just a few hours at a time because my kids are younger. But you could easily spend a whole day here if you wanted to.

“Unique place for children”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

I have been to The Strong many times over the years and held several memberships. I can say that I have never seen another facility quite like this one. There is so much for kids to do here and you can easily spend all day. It is geared for pre-teens and there are several sectioned areas to cater to those age groups. There is a miniature Wegmans supermarket, where your child can shop and then run a replica cash register to check out their purchases, a miniature train, several dress-up areas, a Sesame Street interactive area, a "plastic sand" box area, multiple climbing and exploring areas, and some interactive "look back in time" exhibits to name a few. There are also a few chain eateries inside as they do not allow food to be brought in. School breaks in fall & winter are extremely busy so plan accordingly.

“Could spend all day there!”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

Kids (ages 2 & 5) had a great time. They especially loved the Berenstain Bears and the Wegman's store. The second floor's toy hall of fame was of interest to the adults. Our only disappointment was that the Comic Book Heroes were all located above us so you couldn't get pictures with them.

“The most amazing place for children I have ever been to!”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

This place was HUGE! Much bigger than I expected. Took a young child and there were things for all ages. I enjoyed playing with things too - and loved looking at the old toys. We will be back again for another visit!

“Grandchildren love it!”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

When I was a nursing student at the University of Rochester in the 60's I had an opportunity to be in Margaret Strong's home and see her toy collection. Now I love to go and see portions of it on display. My grandchildren love to visit every year, see the new exhibits and participate in the interactive fun! We love the Butterfly Garden and keep hoping a butterfly will land on one of us. The museum is nostalgia for adults and fun for kids!
