“Always interesting things to see”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

I love going to the Seneca Park Zoo. It's a small zoo, so it's easy to manage, but it has a wide variety of interesting animals. Many of their animals are the type that have high profile interest, such as penguins, tigers, wolves, polar bears, and elephants. This year is particularly exciting as there have been a large number of births, including two lion cubs, a baby orangutan, and a baby sea lion. At the Rocky Coast exhibit you can watch the sea lions and polar bears from above or below the water when they're swimming, which is always a mesmerizing sight. The zoo has enough spots to purchase food to keep you satisfied, and enough bathrooms to keep you comfortable. Children will enjoy their "playground" area, as well as their man-made stream which beckons bare feet on a hot day. The Zot Spot is hands-on learning at its best for children, providing materials for a make believe animal hospital, puzzle pieces to design your own zoo, and more. Docents at the zoo are all well informed and able to answer any question you may have about the animals. The Seneca Park Zoo can meet the needs for whatever age group you have and, because of its size, it's easy to spend as much or as little time there as you have available to you. It will always be a fun visit.

“Fun in the sun!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Great place to go on the few days of full sun and temperate breezes! This zoo is a good walking zoo, not too long, but a good workout if you want one. Easy to do in a few hours as well. Very nice exhibits that are changing regularly and the people there are fantastic - always willing to explain the animals, habitat or give a history of the particular animal in the enclosure. Great little splash park and play area for busy kids too! Right next to the little food stand - it costs more, but hey, it supports the zoo!

“Our Very Favorite Place To Visit”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

If you visit this zoo with a young child, you will be immediately captivated by the animals themselves. My grandson and I paid the admission and spent the better part of a fairly hot morning with an orangutan family (including a mom who would be holding onto her new baby for at least a year), a whole troop of baboons and two very cute lion cubs. We also love the majestic Siberian tiger who has his own digs and the grey wolf who seems like he's had too much coffee to drink. We used to love the penguins and the seals and the polar bear the most but every visit shows us something new and curious. My grandson pointed out a neon-orange-colored tamarin that looked like it had two heads (one belonged to her child). The white rhinos in their vast outdoor space have toys as big as themselves and just the right amount of mud. There are elephants, eagles, crocodiles, river otters, meerkats and much, much more. Before we left, we applied our admission to a grandparent membership that allows grandparents and their grandchildren to enjoy free admission for at least a year. We came back -- with grandpa in tow -- at least two more times that vacation week.

“Zoo visit”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

This is a very nice experience for a smaller municipality. It is clean and presents itself well. There are some unusual exhibits. The inhabitants seem well cared for. The kids love it.
