We truly enjoyed our stay at Ellwanger Estate in Rochester, New York. The house formerly owned by renowned horticulturalist George Ellwanger was like no other place I had ever stayed. Rosemary is an incredible hostess and her breakfasts are works of art. We especially appreciated her flexibility around our arrival time. Our flight was significantly delayed getting us to the B & B around 11:30 p.m. Anya was there to greet us and orient us to the property. The location is perfect for visiting various points in Rochester and its environs and Rosemary offered us awesome suggestions. This is hands down the best place to stay in Rochester!

We had a fabulous experience at the Inn for our small wedding celebration. Rosemary was very accommodating and attended to every detail. The rooms were large, beautiful and clean. The grounds were enchanting and included access to the Ellwanger Garden which is right next door. Breakfast each morning was exceptional and there were cookies, snacks, water and coffee available throughout the day. Our family and guests had a wonderful time.

We have just returned from our second stay at the Ellwanger Estate and we feel so fortunate to have found this gem.
The Inn is located within an easy walk of the University of Rochester, our reason for visiting. It is a little oasis surrounded by beautiful gardens.
Rosemary is an amazing Innkeeper! Her attention to detail is beyond compare, nothing is too much trouble, and we were made to feel very welcome.
The Inn is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We stayed in the Woodland Suite on both occasions, the living area is a lovely place to unwind and the king bed is very comfortable.
Breakfast is an experience not to be missed!
Thank you Rosemary, we hope to visit again soon!

Fills up real quick. Booked my wife and I a stay here very nice clean and better than we expected. The prices are better if you call them up directly. Online can be more pricey but try giving them a call

My wife and I were fortunate enough to stay at the Ellwnger Estate for four nights. The estate is located on a wooded tract of land that is the home to deer, turkey and other local animals. The main house is at the end of a tree shaded lane. Peace and quiet are the operable words to describe the atmosphere. The main house houses the sleeping rooms. The house is in excellent condition. Rosemary, the owner was very attentive to our needs and provided us with an excellent breakfast evch morning.

We loved the place and would recommend it. It is quiet, clean, beautiful, centrally located and has excellent breakfast.
