This is a beautiful mansion that should not be missed if you are in the area. George Eastman was an amazing man and the items housed here just have to be seen.

This is a do not miss place. The museum is terrific, the house spectacular, and the gardens are a dream. What a life to have lived here. Do not miss this one.

Perhaps the 1st Gallery we stepped into set up a mistaken expectation. It was the one with the neat artifacts such as Apollo moon mission camera's, the camera that Joe Rosenthal used for the famous Iwo Jima flag raising photograph. It took about 20-minutes and that was about it for cameras.

There are also some galleries with interesting photographs and collections of Photographer's work but the focus of the museum is George Eastman himself, his family and his home. And, while it is interesting enough for adults this isn't quite enough to keep young teens engaged.

Nice people, interesting home and history, better for grown ups, Rochester and Autobiography buffs. (Not so much for kids - yes, there are kids activities and - apparently - camps but there's a lot of history to wade through on the tour.)

The most splendid of the long succession of mansions on Rochester's East Avenue, it is beautifully maintainedd and houses a show of the best of photography. Adjacent is a movie theater where Hollywood greats appear on occasioin, e.g., Gregory Peck, Ingrid Bergman.
