For nature lovers a must. Aside from exhibits on the grounds there's an excursion available aboard The Explorer that lends a hands on tutorial along the way to a small island between the forks . They pick up traps they have set (animal friendly of course) and kids seem to love to see/touch these creatures in this hands on learning environment. Then they stop at island and you explore for shells, footprints etc. Additionally, at the aqauarium itself, you can register in advance for a day with their trained seals or dive in a shark cage in their aquarium. You can even snorkel with the stingrays. The Atlantis Marine Aquarium does a great part of maintaing our shores and safekeeping the wildlife through programs, many of volunteers and your fees paid help. Many animals such as seals are rehabilitated and re-released off the shores of Long Island. Check in advance for some programs are seasonal.
